Auction of all car license plates of 63 provinces and cities
From July 1, the National Assembly's pilot resolution on car license plate auctions officially took effect. People will have the right to choose and compete to own the car license plate they want.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police, Ministry of Public Security) said that preparations for the auctions are being urgently completed. All facilities and human resources are ready for people to start the auction procedures.
"To ensure the timely implementation of the Resolution, the Traffic Police Department has advised on the completion of documents such as: Decree detailing a number of articles of the Resolution and 2 Circulars regulating the process and professional work of registration for auctioned license plates. Along with that, urgently complete the auction management system, upgrade the vehicle registration and management system", said the representative of the Traffic Police Department.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department added that on June 13, the unit organized training for officers and soldiers of units under the Ministry of Public Security on asset auction operations and auction supervision.
"It is expected that from July 1, the Traffic Police Department will publicly post the list of license plates in the series of numbers prepared for issuance in 63 localities on the National Portal on Asset Auction, the Ministry of Public Security's Portal, the Traffic Police Department's website and the auction organization's online information page for people to choose and register to participate. After completing the procedures, the first auction will take place," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.
Regarding the number plate warehouse to be auctioned in the first session, a representative of the Traffic Police Department said that the number plate ranges of 63 provinces and cities will be auctioned. The Traffic Police Department is reviewing to determine which number plate ranges will start the auction in each locality, and 100% of the number plates in that range will be calculated and put up for people to participate in the auction.
"Each auction will have a certain number of plates, depending on the number of vehicle registrations in each locality. Plates that are not selected for auction will then be returned for random stamping," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.
Conduct online license plate auctions
According to the representative of the Traffic Police Department, the auction of car license plates is conducted entirely online. In each auction session, there are many different auctions for each license plate.
According to the Resolution of the National Assembly, the Ministry of Public Security will select an asset auction organization to conduct the license plate auction. This organization must ensure that it has an online auction website; meets the safety and network security requirements when connecting to the vehicle registration and management system and the auction management system of the Ministry of Public Security.
The Traffic Police Department will only assign officers to monitor and supervise the entire process, auction results and other related factors.
For people, they will be able to register to participate in the auction of license plates of all provinces and cities across the country.
"When choosing an organization to auction assets, people access and register an account on the online auction information website. After registering an account, they will be given specific and detailed instructions on the steps to participate in the auction," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.
Immediately after the end of the online auction, the results will be displayed and a confirmation will be sent to the winning bidder's mailbox.
