School "accidentally" recruited hundreds of students without permission: What did the management agency say?

(Dan Tri) - The leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (GD&DT) affirmed that the students and parents were not at fault in the incident.

Regarding the case of To Hien Thanh High School enrolling 174 10th grade students despite not being given a quota, a leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training informed the press: "The Department is calculating a solution to ensure the rights of students."

According to the leader, the students and parents are not at fault in the incident. As for the school, the Department will have a solution after resolving the students' learning issues.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Principal of To Hien Thanh High School, said that she had organized 3 meetings with parents today.

"Basically, parents agree with the plan proposed by the school and are waiting for the final decision of the Department.

We also hope that parents will support their children's psychological stability in studying.

Currently, the school's educational activities are running normally. The children still study according to the curriculum, ensuring that when they move to a new school, their studies will not be interrupted," Ms. Tuyet said.

Regarding parents' concerns when transferring schools such as fees, changing subject combinations, and arranging classes, Ms. Tuyet said the school has arranged everything.

"Contributions remain the same, classes remain the same. So, students who are in a class will continue to study that class, students who are studying a subject group will continue to study that subject group, unless there is a special need," said Ms. Tuyet.

Previously, the Principal of To Hien Thanh High School reported and proposed to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to transfer 174 10th grade students to Van Lang High School in Dong Da district.

According to Ms. Tuyet, Van Lang School still has more than 200 remaining quotas, and is located in the inner city, convenient for students.

"We are working hard with the management agency and are ready to do everything possible to provide students with a legal place to study," said Ms. Tuyet.

As reported by Dan Tri , parents reported that 174 grade 10 students of To Hien Thanh High School for the 2024-2025 school year were not listed in the system of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training even though the school year had already started for 3 months.

The reason is that the school was not given enrollment quotas by the Department this year.

Parents have known about this since late September, through the press and documents from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. After nearly 3 months of studying, 174 students still have to "study secretly".

To Hien Thanh High School was established in 1997 and is listed by the Department of Education and Training. In previous years, the school had been enrolling students normally. This year, the school was not granted a quota "due to not meeting the legal requirements for the location of operation".
