Vietnamese universities rise dramatically in Asian rankings

(NLDO) - QS Top Universities (UK) has just announced the 2025 Asian university rankings. Of these, 17 Vietnamese universities and colleges were named.


According to the rankings, in 2025, Duy Tan University will maintain its position as the highest-ranked Vietnamese university, ranked 127th, down 12 places compared to last year.

Vietnam has 17 universities and colleges in the ranking of the best universities in Asia in 2025.

In the next position is Hanoi National University ranked 161, up 26 places; Ho Chi Minh City National University ranked 184, up 36 places. Ton Duc Thang University ranked 4th in Vietnam, ranked 199 on the ranking, however this result has decreased sharply (61 places) compared to 2024.

Among the 17 Vietnamese universities and colleges listed in the 2025 rankings, Vang Lang University has made a big "jump", ranking in the 491-500 group, up more than 200 places compared to 2024; Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry also made progress, rising from the 751-800 group to the 501-520 group.

This year, Vietnam has two more schools on the list: Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Vinh University.

Previously, the Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 Asian University Rankings announced in May 2024 recorded that Vietnam has 6 higher education institutions, including Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hue University, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University.
