Loic Desriac wins stage 14 of the 2025 HTV-Ton Dong A Television Cup

Stage 14 of the national cycling race for the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup (HTV) - Ton Dong A 2025, took place on April 18 with a route of 179 km from Pleiku (Gia Lai) to Buon Ma Thuot ( Dak Lak ). Although there were no big passes, a series of continuous long slopes became a real challenge for the racers.

After the arduous climb from Quy Nhon to Pleiku, the race continued to heat up with a series of tactical attacks. Teams that did not meet expectations such as TP HCM Vinama, Duoc Domesco Dong Thap proactively broke away early to seek opportunities, while the teams holding titles such as Loc Troi An Giang Group, Le Fruit Maxxis Dong Nai, Military Region 7... focused on defending their positions.

The drama escalated when the group of foreign players in yellow shirts including Mikhail Fokin (Loc Troi An Giang), Loic Desriac (Domesco Dong Thap Pharmaceutical), Savva Novikov (Binh Minh Binh Duong Plastic), Samuel Jenner (620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long) and Johnny Hoogerland (TP HCM Vinama) simultaneously attacked strongly, creating a very strong top group.

Le Fruit Maxxis Dong Nai team was in a difficult situation when there was no rider in the leading group, forcing them to actively lead the larger group to chase. However, their efforts with Pelio Kenda Dong Nai were not enough to shorten the gap when the foreign team coordinated too well. The only Vietnamese rider who followed closely behind the leading group was Nguyen Truc Xinh (HCMC New Group), who won the prize along the third stage, but then also fell behind.

The climax of the exciting scenario took place 4 km from the finish line, when Loic Desriac suddenly attacked alone. With his bravery and extensive experience, the French racer - a "Vietnamese son-in-law" familiar to fans - convincingly finished first in the center of Buon Ma Thuot City. This was Desriac's second stage victory in this year's tournament.

Despite the impressive win, Desriac did not shake up the titles after 14 races.

The yellow jersey still belongs to Mikhail Fokin, the orange jersey is in the hands of Nguyen Hoang Sang, the white jersey is firmly held by Pham Le Xuan Loc (Military Zone 7), and the green jersey continues to be successfully defended by Nick Kergozou (620 Vinh Long Agriculture). There is only one notable change: Ethan Batt (Le Fruit Maxxis Dong Nai) dropped out of the top 3 individuals due to falling behind in the large group.

Tomorrow, April 19, the race enters stage 15 - a lap around Buon Ma Thuot City with a distance of 46.5 km, promising to continue to bring exciting chases.
