125 projects entered the final round of the "Students with Startup Ideas" 2025 competition

The event was chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in coordination with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry.

The event was organized to continue spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation and nurturing the desire to start a business among students; at the same time, contributing to the formation of a culture of creative entrepreneurship in educational institutions. Thereby, promoting the active participation of higher education institutions and vocational training institutions, in order to improve the quality of career counseling, job introduction and start-up support for students.

This year also summarizes 7 years of implementing the Project "Supporting students to start a business until 2025", an opportunity to summarize the results achieved, and at the same time propose new, creative and effective solutions and methods to promote start-up activities among students in the next stage.

Within the framework of the festival, the final round of the 7th "Students with Startup Ideas" contest took place.

The competition was launched in December 2024. And after 2 months of implementation, the Organizing Committee received 775 startup projects from students from universities, vocational training institutions and general education institutions across the country.

Through the semi-finals, the Ministry of Education and Training selected 125 best projects to participate in the final round. This is the first time the competition has had the participation of vocational training institutions.

This year's startup ideas are assessed to be of good quality, diverse in content, and focused on solving practical community problems.

Notably, the number of participating secondary school students increased compared to previous seasons. Many projects of students from training institutions applied modern technologies such as IoT, Big Data, AI. Some projects have been implemented and initially achieved effectiveness. Among them, many projects have entered the profitable stage with impressive growth in revenue and profit indicators.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that since 2018, the Ministry of Education and Training has organized the National Startup Festival for students and the contest "Students with startup ideas".

After 7 times of organization, the competition has received nearly 2,239 projects from higher education institutions; 4,598 ideas and startup projects from vocational education students and more than 1,299 projects from high schools and middle schools. Of which, 80% of the projects have products and 20% of the projects are ideas or products at the trial production level.

The quality of ideas and start-up projects is getting better and better, and is highly appreciated by businesses. Among the winning projects of the competition, there are projects that have received investment from the State and have been deployed in production in some localities.

The spirit of entrepreneurship is widely spread throughout the country, including remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas. 50% of universities, academies and colleges have held school-level entrepreneurship competitions. Each year, each school has about 10 to 20 ideas and startup projects of students participating in the competitions. 100% of the Departments of Education and Training have students participating in the competition "Students with startup ideas"; some localities have organized their own competitions with a large number of project ideas.

In 2025, the National Student Startup Day (SV.STARTUP) and the "Students with Startup Ideas" Contest will be held with the main activities: Conference to summarize the project "Supporting students to start a business by 2025"; opening and closing programs of the National Student Startup Day.

Along with that are seminars and forums: Breakthrough solutions to promote creative startups in higher education institutions; support creative startups in vocational education institutions in the digital economy era; solutions to promote innovative startup spirit of students from consulting, career, and employment activities; final round of the 7th "Students with startup ideas" contest. Exchange activities, high-tech demonstrations between delegations attending the Festival; visit the space displaying startup ideas of students.
