Phenikaa Private University becomes a university

Recently, the Prime Minister issued a decision to convert Phenikaa University into Phenika University. This is the first private university in the North, and the second private university in the country (after Duy Tan University).

According to the decision, Phenikaa University is a private higher education institution with legal status, its own seal and account. Phenikaa University will reorganize its organizational structure and operate on the basis of Phenikaa University in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and relevant legal provisions. The reorganization process must ensure the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the parties involved, and the normal operation of the higher education institution.

Phenikaa University, formerly Thanh Tay University, was established in 2007. Since 2017, the school changed ownership, officially became a member of Phenikaa Group and took on a new name (Phenikaa University) from November 2018.

In 2019, the school began enrolling its first course under a new name, with an enrollment of more than 300 students. To date, Phenikaa University has a training scale of nearly 25,000 students, with 5 schools under the university: Phenikaa School of Engineering, Phenikaa School of Economics, Phenikaa School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Phenikaa School of Information Technology, Phenikaa School of Foreign Languages ​​- Social Sciences.

The school is located on a 14-hectare campus in Ha Dong District (Hanoi), with nearly 300 multimedia classrooms and about 100 advanced laboratories and practices. The school has more than 100 training programs (64 regular undergraduate training programs, 10 international joint programs, 16 master's training programs and 11 doctoral training programs). It is expected that Phenikaa University will soon establish more schools specializing in training in law, tourism - hospitality, etc.

Currently, Nam Institute has 10 universities, of which, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Thai Nguyen University, Hue University, Da Nang University are pre-existing. Meanwhile, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, National Economics University, Duy Tan University, Phenikaa University are universities that were transferred from universities according to the provisions of the revised Law on Higher Education 2018.
