Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, spoke at the launching ceremony of the 4th Vietnam Book and Unique Culture Day.
This year's Book Day takes the theme "With books, entering the era of national growth", responding to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), affirming the role of books and reading culture in today's life.
This activity continues to call on everyone to join hands in creating a healthy and rich reading environment; encouraging and creating conditions for students to have more opportunities to access books and knowledge.
The organizers also presented souvenir flags to 14 units participating in the 4th Vietnam Book and Culture Day.
Within the framework of the program, there will be many exciting activities for students throughout Ca Mau province such as: School Library Model Contest; Book Drawing Contest; Book Promotion Festival; Digital Map Exhibition and Document Display “Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam”; Cultural Reading Ambassador… Activities are expanded to the outdoor area for students to freely compose and perform many paintings, poems… to contribute more meaning to the reading culture of the province. The program brings together 14 participating units.
Mr. Nguyen Van Den, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Youth Union, presented flowers to the judges of the School Library Model Contest and the Book Drawing Contest.
The book topics chosen by students to present in the School Library Model Contest clearly reflect the importance of developing a reading culture in the present era, especially in the context of scientific, technological and creative development, while also focusing on the historical values of the nation and heroic events in Ca Mau.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, spoke at the launching ceremony: “This is the fourth year we have responded to the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day according to Decision No. 1862/QD-TTg dated November 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister in the province. The organization of the Provincial Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 and in the following years will create a series of cultural activities associated with books, a place to crystallize, converge and spread the love of books to everyone, all classes of people, creating an increasingly closer connection between books and readers, towards building and developing a reading culture in community life.
This is also an opportunity for units operating in the field of publishing and distribution to promote, introduce products and develop their brands, thereby contributing to the development of the book industry in particular and the publishing industry in general.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh hopes that social organizations, teachers, parents, and youth union members will join hands to create a healthy and rich reading environment; encourage and create conditions for students - the future owners of the country, to have more opportunities to access books and knowledge; and hopes that every Ca Mau citizen will increasingly appreciate the value of books, maintain and develop the habit of reading, making reading an essential need in life; at the same time, calling on every organization, individual, all levels, and all sectors to join hands to contribute to building a reading movement, towards a movement of learning and lifelong learning.
