
According to the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, localities in the province have experienced heat waves. The highest temperature and lowest humidity yesterday, April 18, at Tam Ky Meteorological Station (Tam Ky City) was 36.5 degrees Celsius, humidity 56%; at Tra My Meteorological Station (Bac Tra My District), the temperature was 36.3 degrees Celsius, humidity 58%.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 to 48 hours, localities in the province will continue to experience hot weather, with the highest temperature during the day commonly ranging from 35 - 37 degrees Celsius; the lowest humidity commonly ranging from 50 - 60%; the time when temperatures are higher than 35 degrees Celsius is from 10 - 16 hours.
In the next 72 to 120 hours, heat waves will continue to occur in localities in the province. From April 25, heat waves will tend to decrease in intensity and area.
The provincial Hydrometeorological Station warns that during hot days, there is a possibility of showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. Localities need to be on guard against dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
During the day, the temperature will rise and the humidity will fall. It is necessary to take precautions against the risk of forest fires in the midlands and mountainous areas, explosions and fires in industrial zones and densely populated areas. Be careful of the heat affecting the health of people, crops and livestock.
