DNVN – On August 28, in Da Nang City, Dong A University held a ceremony to announce the opening of a medical doctor training program, bachelor of rehabilitation engineering at university level, and signed a training cooperation agreement with hospitals in the Central region.
According to Decision 2198/QD-BGDDT (dated August 21, 2024) and Decision 2005/QD-BGDDT (dated July 29, 2024) of the Ministry of Education and Training, from the 2024-2025 school year, Medicine and Rehabilitation Engineering will officially join the Health sector of Dong A University, in addition to the dominant sectors such as Nursing, Midwifery, Pharmacy, and Nutrition.

People's Physician, Associate Professor, Senior Doctor Nguyen Ngoc Minh - Vice Principal, Head of Health Department of Dong A University said that the medical doctor training program at this school lasts 6 years, has been carefully researched and developed and updated with medical advances in the world, has high applicability, equipping students with good expertise and high clinical skills upon graduation.
The program is integrated towards global doctors to work in multinational environments. At the same time, it is compared with domestic and international standard programs, aiming to connect knowledge after graduating from university (level 7 medical doctor) to continue training for practice certificates, postgraduate training in 2 directions: practice (specialty 1, specialty 2), residency and academic (doctoral research).
Along with a team of excellent lecturers, the Faculty of Medicine of Dong A University also invests in and operates a system of nearly 20 standardized practice laboratories, a modern preclinical simulation center and a network of clinical practice facilities at units with advanced specialized techniques.

Tran Thanh Thuy - Director of the Da Nang Department of Health commented that the Ministry of Education and Training's permission for Dong A University to open a training program for general practitioners and bachelors of rehabilitation has a very practical meaning, meeting the demand for high-quality medical human resources in medical examination and treatment in particular, and health care in general in Da Nang city as well as the Central Highlands region.
On this occasion, Dong A University signed a cooperation agreement on training medical doctors with Hospital 199 - Ministry of Public Security (Da Nang) and Quang Nam Northern Mountainous Region General Hospital. Accordingly, medical students of Dong A University will practice in specialized departments under the guidance and regular assessment of doctors at the practice facility according to a specific roadmap.
Chairman of the Board of Dong A University Luong Minh Sam said that along with perfecting the combined school-institution training model, the university is also promoting comprehensive cooperation with Kameda Social Medical Group (Japan) to implement a Japanese-standard international general clinic project in Da Nang in the near future.
In addition, foreign partners, including universities and hospitals from Japan, Korea, etc., will send medical experts to teach at Dong A University; medical students of the university will also have the opportunity to practice at advanced medical facilities in other countries.
