In recent days, the MV “Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong” by singer Nhu Hai Yen has been passed around by many people inside and outside the province. This is a musical product by singer Nhu Hai Yen to celebrate the event of Vinh Linh district celebrating its 70th anniversary, along with the album “Bai ca Vinh Linh” which she also made during this time. For the people of Quang Tri, the song “Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong” is very familiar and is “tailored” to the names of many great artists. However, when watching the MV by singer Nhu Hai Yen, almost everyone is filled with indescribable emotions. Gift of gratitude
Talking to reporters, singer Nhu Hai Yen said that she has cherished the MV "Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong" for a long time. However, the hustle and bustle of life and work have not allowed Yen to turn her dream into reality. Recently, hearing that Quang Tri is organizing the Festival for Peace and Vinh Linh district is preparing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its tradition, she told herself that she could not wait any longer. Putting aside all plans and intentions, Nhu Hai Yen devoted all her energy to the MV as a gift to her hometown.
She shared: “Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong” is an immortal work that has entered the hearts of the Vietnamese people, with profound and meaningful melody and lyrics. Since childhood, Nhu Hai Yen has listened to this song and it has entered her heart. With this work, Yen does not have the ambition to surpass the previous great shadows, she just wants the song to revive once again, to be engraved more deeply in the hearts of the audience. Therefore, Yen sings with the mindset of a young person, living in peace, knowing how to cherish the past, present and always looking forward to good things in the future.”
As a singer and vocal teacher, creating and releasing music videos and albums is not difficult for Nhu Hai Yen. However, when she started making the MV “Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong”, she could not help but feel anxious because there were too many things she wanted to convey in the MV. Nhu Hai Yen was afraid that she and her team would not be able to convey all the messages from her heart through images, sounds, melodies...
“Although the song was written in 1957, when the country was still divided, carrying the feeling of nostalgia and longing for the day of reunion, in the final scene of the MV, Nhu Hai Yen presented the image of a man and a woman dreaming of a bright future, the two parts of the country reunified and met right at the white line on Hien Luong bridge. The image of the national flag appearing at that moment was very sacred. The truth has proven that the premonition of the authors Dang Giao and Hoang Hiep at that time was completely correct,” Nhu Hai Yen said about the idea of renewing this song, which has been very familiar to many generations of Vietnamese people.

The concerns and dedication of singer Nhu Hai Yen have touched the hearts of many people, including her teacher - People's Artist Ta Minh Tam. Although a son of the far South, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam always has deep affection for the land and people of Quang Tri. He always enthusiastically participates in programs such as the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Quang Tri Association in Ho Chi Minh City, and offering flowers to martyrs' graves at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery.
Silently, he has helped many students in Quang Tri, including Nhu Hai Yen. When he heard about his student's idea, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam volunteered to play a role in the MV. That action seemed to give Nhu Hai Yen more strength. Knowing that his teacher did not accept the role for fame or money, Nhu Hai Yen wanted to use the success of the MV to show her gratitude to him.
According to singer Nhu Hai Yen, not only appearing in the MV “Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong”, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam also contributed his voice to the Album “Bai ca Vinh Linh”. Knowing that this is the heart that his student wants to send to the border land on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh's tradition, Yen's teacher once again accepted to become a special guest. "The teacher's support means a lot to the MV "Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong" and the Album "Bai ca Vinh Linh". When I finished the MV and album, listening to each song again, I cried because of emotion. I believe that I did not let down my teacher and the audience", Nhu Hai Yen confided.
Give the homeland the best
Referring to the MV “Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong” and the Album “Bai ca Vinh Linh”, singer Nhu Hai Yen shared that this is a gift containing a lot of love that she wants to send to the people of Quang Tri in general, Vinh Linh in particular.
The album “Vinh Linh Song” was made in 1 month but the idea and the process of choosing the songs were already there. The album includes 10 songs, 8 of which were filmed in Ho Chi Minh City and 2 were filmed outdoors in Vinh Linh district, directed, filmed, and post-produced by the Ho Chi Minh City and Hue teams. The budget for the audio and visual parts of the album was over 300 million VND. Although that number is not too large compared to making a music album, it is Nhu Hai Yen’s gratitude to her homeland.

Like many people far from home, Yen always wants to return and do something meaningful. In 2020, when Quang Tri was submerged in storms and floods, she immediately returned home to help her fellow countrymen. After that time, her love for her hometown urged Nhu Hai Yen. She thought more about contributing to Quang Tri. Deep down, Yen wanted to give the most precious things she had to her hometown. At this stage, for her, that was her singing. For that reason, in addition to visiting home and doing charity work, most of singer Nhu Hai Yen's return home was to serve the Quang Tri audience. For Yen, the highest salary is the affection of her hometown people.
“However, singing for my hometown people is not enough. Yen always aspires to create valuable music products for her hometown. That is the reason why she invested a lot of time and effort in the MV “Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong” and the Album “Bai ca Vinh Linh”, Nhu Hai Yen shared.
At the end of the conversation, singer Nhu Hai Yen shared a memory of a trip back to her hometown to take photos at Hien Luong Bridge. At that time, the rain and wind made the crew members think that they would not be able to complete the work. Worried, Hai Yen clasped her hands and prayed. She told herself that if she completed this mission, she would return to Hien Luong Bridge to make a music product. And that time, Nhu Hai Yen and her crew completed the work when the weather gradually warmed up...
“With the MV “Cau ho ben bo Hien Luong” and the Album “Bai ca Vinh Linh”, I have fulfilled my wish from years ago. During the process of making the MV and album, every time I encountered difficulties, I was lucky to overcome them and receive help from noble people. That is also the fate that every time I return, I can sing from my heart”, Nhu Hai Yen confided.
