>> Tran Yen Farmers' Association newly established 7 cooperatives and cooperatives
>> Tran Yen newly established 40 enterprises and cooperatives
The 3/2 Dao Thinh Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, Thanh Thinh Commune, currently has 14 members and manages nearly 60 hectares of cinnamon, nearly 2 hectares of Bat Do bamboo shoots and some areas of Bodhi. On average, each year, the Cooperative harvests 40 - 50 tons of cinnamon bark, nearly 20 tons of Bat Do bamboo shoots, with a revenue of more than 1 billion VND; the profit divided among each member ranges from 80 - 100 million VND. In the process of converting to organic agricultural production, the Cooperative faces a number of common difficulties such as high conversion costs, limited access to knowledge and markets, weather impacts, and unstable output.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Nam - Director of the Cooperative said: "Applying organic standards requires large investments in production processes, quality control and product certification while the financial capacity of the Cooperative is limited, and accessing preferential loans is difficult. Members and farmers in the association have difficulty accessing information on organic production processes and finding stable markets for organic products."
Bao Hung High Quality Green Tea Production Cooperative, Minh Quan Commune has 2 products recognized as 3-star and 4-star OCOP, which are Bao Hung Bat Tien Tea and Bao Hung Bat Tien Tea Bags. To ensure product quality, the Cooperative closely cooperates with cooperatives and tea production households, building clean tea material areas in an organic direction and meeting VietGAP standards. All stages from improving varieties, caring, harvesting to processing follow strict procedures. With constant efforts, the Cooperative has contributed to increasing income for local people and affirming its brand in the market.
However, Mr. Pham Van Ban - Director of the Cooperative also shared: "The connection with household groups and raw material areas faces many difficulties due to market competition. Besides, machinery and technology in the production process also need to be newly invested, while the ability to access preferential capital is very difficult, market and output factors are also barriers for the Cooperative". That is also a requirement to continue improving the quality of operations of current Cooperatives.
Currently, Tran Yen has 116 cooperatives in operation, with an average revenue of 7.8 billion VND/year, of which many cooperatives have outstanding revenue, reaching over 50 billion VND/year. Some cooperatives face difficulties due to lack of capital, limited management capacity, unstable product output... To improve the quality of cooperative operations, Tran Yen has implemented support policies according to Resolution No. 06/2021/NQ-HDND dated April 19, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council promulgating a number of policies on supporting the development of the collective economy in Yen Bai province for the period 2021 - 2025.
The district supports part of the cost of registration and building production models for newly established cooperatives; supports access to preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank and the Cooperative Development Support Fund; invests in production infrastructure; supports cooperatives in linking production along the value chain to improve economic efficiency; builds product brands, and applies digital transformation in production and business.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Thu - Chairman of Tran Yen District People's Committee shared: "The district strives to achieve the goal of 2025 and the following years, the number of effectively operating cooperatives will increase to 80%; agricultural products will increasingly have brands in domestic and foreign markets; cooperatives will create stable jobs for hundreds of rural workers with an average income of 6 - 8 million VND/person/month".
To improve the quality of cooperatives, in addition to support mechanisms and policies, each cooperative needs to improve its management and operation capacity, proactively innovate production lines and technologies, apply digitalization in production, link production according to value chains; form agricultural cultivation areas applying high technology and production towards green agriculture, safe agriculture, organic agriculture and processing, contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products, bringing stable income to cooperatives and farmers.
Tran Yen focuses on developing cooperatives according to the new cooperative model associated with product value chains; expanding the area of organic agricultural production, aiming for export; increasing the application of high technology and digital transformation in cooperative management; supporting more cooperatives to access international markets; supporting cooperatives to focus on deep processing; supporting training and improving the quality of human resources in management and production. |
