On the morning of November 21, Ho Chi Minh City residents welcomed a new day in cool weather, with the lowest temperature ranging from 24-27 degrees Celsius, and fog covering some areas in the west of the city.

According to the reporter's records, there was dense fog on National Highway 1, Vo Van Kiet Street, An Duong Vuong Street, etc. (Binh Tan District). Most of the high-rise buildings were obscured by a layer of opaque white fog.

Mr. Ha The Nam (living in Binh Tan district) said: “The fog appeared early in the morning, when driving on the road, it was easy to feel my eyes stinging. It was not until after 9 o'clock when the sun rose that the fog gradually dissipated.”

According to the Air Visual air monitoring application (belonging to IQAir, which owns a large amount of aggregated data on air quality and is headquartered in Switzerland), many areas in Ho Chi Minh City have air quality measurement points that are not good for health.

Specifically, according to the Air Visual application, at 8:00 a.m. on November 21, the concentration of fine dust PM 2.5 in Ho Chi Minh City reached about 52.2µg/m³ (the allowable level is about 5 µg/m³).

“The concentration of fine dust PM2.5 in Ho Chi Minh City is currently 10.4 times higher than the value according to WHO's annual air quality guidelines,” Air Visual reported.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the continental cold high pressure continues to affect the weather in the North - North Central region and diffuses weakly to the south. The northeast wind over the Southeast sea is operating at medium to strong intensity. Above, the subtropical high pressure has an axis through the Central region. The easterly wind disturbance at high altitude is weak in the South.

In the coming days, the continental cold high pressure is forecast to continue to strengthen further south. The high-altitude easterly wind disturbance (causing rain) in the South will gradually weaken. In late November and early December, the Southern region will end the rainy season and move into the dry season.
