Ho Chi Minh City inaugurates Ton Duc Thang Museum

Previously, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang's birth (1888 - 1988), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to establish the Exhibition House of President Ton Duc Thang's life and career located at 5 Ton Duc Thang, District 1. In 1990, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to change the name to Ton Duc Thang Museum. The museum was established to meet the needs of people nationwide to learn, research and study about Uncle Ton.

New Ton Duc Thang Museum

In 2019, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the project to build a new Ton Duc Thang Museum with a total investment of more than 275 billion VND, with a scale of nearly 2,000 m² arranged for exhibition area, meeting the requirements of conveying regular exhibition themes, short-term thematic exhibitions, areas for experiential activities and other cultural activities.

Modern thematic galleries inside the museum

Currently, the museum's permanent exhibition themes are concentrated on the 3rd floor such as: Childhood; From a worker to a leader of the Saigon workers' movement and 15 years in Con Dao prison . The 4th floor includes 2 themes: A nucleus of great national unity; A President and an interactive experience room. This way of displaying presents a unique, personal language, content from a new, multi-dimensional perspective, the human element is highlighted on the basis of a modern, highly professional graphics system, helping visitors not only to view but also to interact to explore history and experience for themselves...
