Summary of emulation movement and reward work in 2023

– On the morning of January 25, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to summarize the emulation movement and reward work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024.

In 2023, with the theme "Tightening discipline, enhancing responsibility, taking drastic actions, and breaking through creatively", the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Emulation Council issued many documents directing emulation work. Emulation movements in batches and on topics were also widely deployed, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere and receiving the response of all classes of people. The emulation movements have made an important contribution to the province's completion of 18 main socio-economic targets set for 2023. Of which, 15/18 targets were achieved and exceeded, notably: gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 7.0%; total import-export turnover reached over 51,900 million USD, up 81.84% over the same period in 2022; attracting investment to develop industrial parks, clusters and transport networks was focused on and achieved high results, with total investment capital in the area reaching more than 13,000 billion VND. The province has 12 more communes meeting new rural standards, 5 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 2 model new rural communes; average income per capita reached 59.8 million VND; state budget revenue reached nearly 7,800 billion VND; creating new jobs for about 17,000 people; The poverty rate decreased by 3% compared to 2022, currently at 5.92%; Lang Son is one of 7 agencies and units nationwide to receive the award "Excellent digital transformation state agency"...

In 2023, 28 collectives and 14 individuals were awarded at the State level; the Provincial People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to award 2,514 collectives, individuals and families (an increase of 17% compared to 2022).

At the conference, representatives of agencies, units and outstanding individuals discussed and shared experiences and good practices in implementing patriotic emulation movements and effective economic development models.

Speaking at the conference, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and commended the achievements of the emulation movement of the province. He suggested that in the coming time, all levels and sectors need to organize and disseminate widely to cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and all classes of people about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on emulation and emulation work.

The organization of emulation movements must be practical, effective, closely following the orientation content, creating consensus and high determination among the entire Party and the people. At the same time, it is necessary to continue to innovate and improve the quality of emulation work, resolutely overcoming the disease of achievements in emulation work.

In his closing speech at the conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: All levels, sectors, agencies, units, emulation clusters and blocks continue to effectively implement Directive No. 34 dated April 7, 2014 of the Politburo and Directive No. 30 dated November 18, 2014 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on continuing to innovate emulation work in the province; organize emulation movements right from the beginning of the year and link emulation movements with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; rewards must be accurate, timely, public, transparent, creating positive effects and spreading.

Comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Economic Development Council delivered the closing speech at the conference.

On this occasion, 13 collectives received the Emulation Flag of the Provincial People's Committee; 26 collectives with outstanding achievements received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and 10 good farmers and businessmen, and land-donating households received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Also at the program, comrade Duong Xuan Huyen, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, First Vice Chairman of the Provincial Economic and Trade Council launched the emulation movement to successfully carry out the tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in 2024.
