The People's Committee of Lang Son province has just announced the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the first quarter of 2025. Accordingly, in the past quarter, the province achieved an economic growth rate of about 8.27%. Of which, agriculture and forestry increased by 7.23%, industry and construction increased by 10.89%, services increased by 7.29%, and product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 8.5%.
The province continues to pay attention to and promote the development of border gate economy. In the first quarter, Lang Son continued to deploy and complete the planning system in the border gate and border areas to implement the pilot project to build smart border gates on the dedicated freight transport road in the area of landmarks 1119 - 1120 and the dedicated freight transport road in the area of landmarks 1088/2 - 1089 of the Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China) international border gate pair. Along with that, Lang Son has deployed a plan to attract non-budgetary investment capital to implement the smart border gate project at Huu Nghi international border gate.

According to the assessment of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, import and export activities in the province increased sharply compared to the same period. Specifically, the total import and export turnover of all types through Lang Son province (from January 1, 2025 to March 31, 2025) reached 17,851.9 million USD, an increase of 24% over the same period, of which export turnover reached 5,752.5 million USD, an increase of 3.69% over the same period, import turnover reached 12,099.5 million USD, an increase of 34.68%.
Industrial activities continued to remain stable, with 13/13 major industrial products achieving and exceeding the same period. The establishment and construction of industrial park and industrial cluster infrastructure continued to receive attention and direction to accelerate implementation. Lang Son provincial leaders continued to urge and monitor the acceleration of infrastructure investment progress for industrial clusters that have started construction (Ho Son 1, Bac Son 2 and Dinh Lap, striving to be put into operation in 2025); continued to closely follow the progress of infrastructure investment in industrial clusters that have been approved for investment (Hop Thanh 1, 2, Hoa Son 1 and Na Duong 1, 2, 3). In addition, Lang Son province is accelerating the completion of dossiers for industrial clusters: Minh Son, No. 01 Khang Chien, Southeast of Dong Mo town, Tan Van.
According to the assessment of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, in the last quarter, trade and service activities were bustling. Essential goods were abundant and diverse, prices of goods were stable, ensuring to serve the consumption needs of the people during and after Tet. The average consumer price index (CPI) increased by 2.19% over the same period. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue were estimated at VND 10,783.1 billion, up 15.8% over the same period.
Regarding the disbursement results of the 2025 capital plan: By the end of the first quarter of 2025, Lang Son province disbursed about 763.3 billion VND, reaching 13.4% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister (up 0.7% over the same period), 3.87% higher than the national average (9.53%).
Regarding budget revenue, in the first quarter of this year, Lang Son province has realized a total state budget revenue of approximately 2,700 billion VND, an increase of 24.8% over the same period.
