Special attention to comprehensive education for children

Mr. Le Hung Nghe - Director of SOS Children's Village Nha Trang said that over the years, the Village has become a warm home for hundreds of orphaned, abandoned, homeless children and children with other special circumstances. They live in a new family and develop as naturally as possible. We support them from childhood to adulthood so that they can be independent, responsible and contribute to society.

Currently, the Village is managing and raising 161 children; of which 110 are studying culture; 32 are studying at secondary schools, colleges, and universities; 19 are implementing the semi-independent program (they have started working but are still supported by the Village for 3 years). The Village has 12 family houses, each house is named after a bird, such as: Oriole, Nightingale, Son Ca, Seagull, Vanh Khuyen... symbolizing the children's beliefs and aspirations for the future. In each house, there are mothers and children who are not related by blood; each has a different personality and hometown, but they all share the same situation of suffering early disadvantages and losses in life.

For mothers and aunts in the village, caring for, raising and educating their children is a joy and happiness. The love of mothers and aunts becomes a source of motivation to help children overcome their inferiority complex and confidently integrate into the community.

In the Village, there is also a Youth Hostel that is nurturing children over 14 years old, an SOS Kindergarten with full facilities and service systems such as: soccer field, basketball court, volleyball court, vocational skills training workshop...

In addition to taking care of children's cultural studies, the village also focuses on training, nurturing, and organizing extracurricular activities to help children develop their personal talents and develop in the most comprehensive way. Meaningful activities include: participating in a football tournament for children with special circumstances; outdoor activities on International Children's Day; cross-country tournament for children; interacting with representatives of Uncle Ho's good children in other provinces; participating in a painting contest...

Thanks to special attention to comprehensive education for children, every year, over 40% of children achieve good and excellent academic performance; over 90% of children are classified as good and excellent academic performance; 100% of children are recognized as graduating from junior high school; 100% of children pass the high school graduation exam; many children receive scholarships from agencies and organizations, especially Hermann Gmeiner scholarships, Odonvallet scholarships, etc.
