Which group of stocks are being "hunted" by investors?

(NLDO)- Technology and public investment stocks are becoming the focus of investors' "hunting" when positive information has just been announced.

The first trading session of the week, April 14, recorded an impressive breakthrough in the stock market, marking the third consecutive recovery session after a sell-off that lasted for four previous sessions.

The VN-Index jumped strongly by 18.98 points (equivalent to 1.55%) to 1,241.44 points. The HNX-Index was not far behind, jumping to 315.74 points, up 2.40 points. Market liquidity remained high, with total trading value on all three exchanges HoSE, HNX and UpCoM exceeding VND26,000 billion - a figure showing that demand has returned with vigor.

The highlight of the session was the brilliant performance of Vingroup stocks. VIC and VHM hit the ceiling, while VRE jumped more than 4.6%. In addition, other large-cap stocks also jumped: MWG hit the ceiling, MSN jumped more than 5%, HPG, SSI, GAS... all increased strongly, creating a positive ripple effect on the entire market.

Notably, buying power was concentrated at the end of the session, pushing the prices of many stocks up sharply, reflecting investors' confidence in a sustainable recovery trend.

The stock market has been more positive after last week's sell-off.

Not only the "blue-chips", cash flow also shows clear differentiation, flowing strongly into industry groups expected to benefit from the Government 's support policies, especially public investment and technology.

Specifically, the Government recently directed the State Bank to deploy a credit package of VND500,000 billion, giving priority to businesses investing in infrastructure and digital technology with preferential interest rates. The lending interest rate may be reduced by 1-2 percentage points compared to normal - a policy that investors consider a "dose of doping" for growth.

This credit package is mainly mobilized from resources of commercial banks, opening up great expectations for a strong recovery of technology stocks and public investment in the coming time.

An Investment Director at VPS Securities JSC commented: "This is a support package of extremely large scale, focusing on two strategic spearheads: technology and infrastructure. In the context that 2025 is predicted to be a pivotal year with many major changes (such as provincial mergers, streamlining the apparatus...), businesses directly related to infrastructure and real estate will benefit significantly."

In addition, the Government is also tending to increase support for large private corporations - a factor that further strengthens the growth momentum for stocks of leading enterprises.

At the same time, the policy of continuing to reduce VAT by 2% until the end of 2025 to stimulate consumption and production is also expected to bring a breath of recovery to some groups of stocks in the consumer and retail sectors.

Experts agree that investors should closely monitor information related to support cash flows from the Government and the State Bank. However, in the context of chaotic information, it is also necessary to be extremely alert to false rumors, avoid falling into speculative traps and taking unnecessary risks. "International fluctuations and global tariff policies are still influential factors in the medium and long term. However, the major shocks have been somewhat absorbed. The current period is when the market reflects more clearly the internal strength and power of the domestic economy" - VPS securities experts emphasized.
