Vietnam women's team plays German representative at Hang Day stadium

The Vietnamese women's team will have its first notable international friendly match in 2025. The opponent of Huynh Nhu and her teammates is the German representative, Werder Bremen women's club, which will take place on May 16 at Hang Day Stadium ( Hanoi ).

Facing a representative from Germany is actually not too new. The Vietnam team most recently lost 0-2 to Leipzig at the end of 2024. Therefore, this will be the first quality step in preparing for the training trip to Japan, towards the 2026 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers.

The 2026 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers will take place from June 23 to July 5. The Vietnamese women's team is in Group E and will take on the role of host when the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) hosts the tournament at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ).

The Vietnamese women's team had a friendly match with another German representative but lost 0-2 at the end of 2024.

To prepare for the tournament, the Vietnamese women's team is expected to gather from May 4 and carry out a training plan in three phases.

In the first phase, the team will gather at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) to review the force and strengthen the playing style.

After that, the whole team will go to Japan for training and play friendly matches with local clubs to improve their professional quality.

After finishing the training trip, the team returned to Vietnam to enter the final stage in Phu Tho, focusing on practicing tactics to prepare for the matches with UAE, Maldives and Guam in Group E of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers.
