On the afternoon of March 18, the Ministry of Planning and Investment chaired the event, the National Innovation Center (NIC) coordinated with Meta Group to announce the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 (VIC).

This program seeks and honors solutions to improve the quality of design, packaging, and testing in the semiconductor industry value chain, with priority given to AI applications. In addition, the program also seeks and honors AI application solutions to build and develop businesses and increase productivity.

The Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 aims to promote cooperation, attract resources, and build a multilateral cooperation platform to establish a launching pad for Vietnamese enterprises to increase value and enhance their position in the global value chain.

By identifying and honoring solutions, the program will contribute to the goal of spreading awareness about the importance and value of the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries. At the same time, the program also plays a role in recommending and connecting Vietnamese businesses with solutions to improve operations, improve performance, develop new products and services to increase competitive advantages in the world market.

The Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 will last until October 2024. Selected excellent solutions will have the opportunity to be introduced and cooperate with corporations and investment funds. Through the program, solution developers will also be connected and join the ecosystem of NIC and Meta, along with support packages, capacity building, trade promotion opportunities, and many other awards.

Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 is a program of great significance for the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry ecosystem in particular, and for Vietnam's business environment in general.

According to Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong, Vietnam is currently emerging as a potential factor in the semiconductor industry with many advantages such as strategic location, increasingly developed digital infrastructure, people proficient in technology and a young, creative workforce. Along with the semiconductor industry, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a fundamental field of the 4th Industrial Revolution. In the wave of AI technology development, Vietnam has also taken strong steps in participating in promoting research, application and development of AI human resources.

In that context, the Vietnam Innovation Challenge Program 2024 not only demonstrates the vision and great support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in promoting these two potential fields but also contributes to realizing the strategic goals set by the Government.
