Shaping the future of Vietnamese education in the AI era On April 9, the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with RMIT University Vietnam officially launched the "Vietnam Education Innovation Forum with Artificial Intelligence 2025". Globally and in Vietnam, we are living in a time of great transformation. Digital technologies, especially AI, are reshaping the way we live, connect, work and learn. “These changes bring huge opportunities, but at the same time pose challenges that require us to think differently, act boldly and, most importantly, ensure that the application of AI in education is ethical, inclusive and safe,” emphasized Ms. Tara O'Connell. Photo: MN According to Professor Julia Gaimster, Senior Director of Academics, Research and Student Curriculum at RMIT University Vietnam, as a highlight of the project “EEAI: Innovation in Education with AI”, the forum will create a space for leaders, teachers, education managers and industry experts to engage in in-depth dialogue and shape the future of education in Vietnam in the AI era. “We look forward to continued collaboration between RMIT and the Ministry of Education and Training in the future. Together, we can ensure that AI is not just a technology of the future, but also a driving force for educational transformation today, benefiting the Vietnamese education system and community,” said Professor Julia Gaimster. Speaking at the event, Dr. Vu Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Teachers and Educational Administrators (Ministry of Education and Training) commented: AI is no longer a distant concept. It has, is, and will continue to change the way we teach and learn, the way students access knowledge, and the way educational administrators make policies. “AI offers huge opportunities for personalizing learning, enhancing interaction, supporting teaching, assessment and more effective education administration. At the same time, it also poses many new challenges in ethics, law, application capacity and especially fairness in access to technology,” Dr. Vu Minh Duc analyzed. 4 key activities to promote AI application in education Affirming that the “Vietnam Education Innovation Forum with Artificial Intelligence 2025” will mark an important step forward in the journey of educational innovation, taking AI and digital technology as the foundation, Dr. Vu Minh Duc emphasized that the forum will not only be a place to gather experts, managers, teachers, and lecturers to exchange experiences, but also a bridge to open up new opportunities for cooperation and innovation. Photo: MN Providing specific information about the main activities of the forum, Professor Iwona Miliszewska, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology of RMIT University Vietnam, said that there are 4 outstanding events in a series of activities aimed at promoting the application of AI in education and improving the AI application capacity of teachers and education managers. These include a workshop on the current implementation of AI applications in education, current status and solutions; a specialized training program on AI applications in teaching and learning; a national competition on AI applications in education; and the Vietnam Education Day with AI. In particular, the in-depth workshop on AI application deployment taking place on May 9 is expected to bring many practical solutions. Held both in-person and online from May to August, the specialized training programs on AI applications in teaching and learning aim to support Vietnamese teachers and lecturers across the country to improve their capacity to apply AI, especially generative AI, in teaching and learning activities. The national competition on the topic of AI application in education is one of the four main activities of the "Vietnam Education Innovation Forum with Artificial Intelligence 2025". This is a playground for all teachers and lecturers in Vietnam, including categories for general education and higher education, with entries focusing on the use of AI in teaching and learning activities in schools. The contest rules are scheduled to be announced in April; the deadline for submissions is late July; and the top 100 finalists will be announced in early September. Closing the forum is the “Vietnam Education Festival on AI Innovation”, which will take place in October in Ho Chi Minh City, with many events such as: Final round and ceremony to honor teachers with excellent products on AI application in education; exhibition and display of initiatives on AI application and digital technology in education... |
