Nearly 38,000 packages of poultry wings of unknown origin destroyed

On the morning of May 30, the Destruction Council of Lao Cai Provincial Police destroyed a shipment of 37,800 packages of poultry wings of unknown origin.

The above shipment was seized by the Department of Investigation Police on Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (Provincial Police) in coordination with the Market Management Department this month.

Specifically, on May 15, the Anti-Smuggling Police Team, the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling (Provincial Police) coordinated with Market Management Team No. 5 (Market Management Department) to carry out tasks in Coc Leu Ward (Lao Cai City), and discovered a shipment with many suspicious signs.

The authorities conducted an inspection and found that the shipment consisted of 105 cardboard boxes containing 37,800 packages of marinated poultry wings.

At the time of inspection, the owner of the shipment, Mr. Mai Trong Thang, born in 1999, residing in Group 8, Coc Leu Ward, could not present documents proving the origin of the above shipment.

The authorities have drawn up a record to seize the entire shipment and at the same time issued a decision to administratively fine Mr. Mai Trong Thang 25,000,000 VND.

On May 30, the authorities destroyed the entire shipment in accordance with the law.
