Each parent had a prepared request form in hand.
Chairing the meeting were Vice Chairwoman of Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee Do Thi Thuy Ha, representatives of the District People's Committee, District Department of Education and Training, Tay Mo Ward People's Committee, school principals in the area and related units.
Vice Chairwoman of Nam Tu Liem People's Committee Do Thi Thuy Ha said that regarding the incident in which many parents who are residents of Vinhomes Smart City Urban Area expressed their wishes for their children to be transferred to Tay Mo 3 Primary School according to the enrollment route, the district has received and conducted a preliminary review. Up to now, Nam Tu Liem district has received 520 applications for admission to Tay Mo 3 Primary School.
"Through receiving and reviewing, we see that the parents' wishes are legitimate and appropriate; local authorities must be responsible for caring for and ensuring the rights of students living in the area. The district has agreed to try to accept all wishes of parents to send their children to public schools in the area, ensuring convenience for students and parents," said Ms. Ha.
However, according to the representative of the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District, to carry out this admission, the district will follow the correct regulations and procedures and need more time. That is, to receive more students when the enrollment has been completed, the district must ask for the opinion of the Department of Education and Training on granting additional quotas.
Next, the Department will review school facilities, teaching staff and other conditions to ensure the quality of teaching and learning. "After analyzing each case, local characteristics, residential groups..., we will have a final announcement to parents, expected on August 27," said Ms. Ha.
Previously, on the morning of August 21, many parents were present at Tay Mo 3 Primary School (Nam Tu Liem District) with the desire to discuss with the school's board of directors and express their wishes for their children to transfer to Tay Mo 3 Primary School, which is on the right route and close to home.
The Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District has issued an application for parents to fill out and submit. Based on that, the Department of Education and Training will receive, synthesize, and classify it to advise the District People's Committee on a solution.
Tay Mo 3 Primary School is a public school, built with the district's public investment budget (residents of Vinhomes Smart City urban area do not have to contribute) and was separated from Tay Mo Primary School.
At the time of enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year according to the general plan of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Tay Mo 3 Primary School has not yet completed the school's apparatus; therefore, the District People's Committee has directed Tay Mo Primary School to carry out enrollment work for the entire Tay Mo 3 Primary School.
Specifically, the total enrollment target for Tay Mo 3 Primary School is 400 students, including residential groups 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and buildings that have not yet established residential groups in Vinhomes Smart City urban area.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Tay Mo 3 Primary School only enrolls first grade students according to regulations and enrollment routes, but the number of registered students is 460 (exceeding 60 targets), so it is organized into 13 first grade classes. Cases that do not submit applications within the prescribed time are considered as having no need. For students in grades 2, 3, 4, 5, 100% are separated from Tay Mo Primary School according to the enrollment route.
However, a large number of parents who are residents of Vinhomes Smart City Urban Area wish to transfer their children here to study; mainly students in grades 2, 3, 4, 5 who are studying stably at other schools and request to transfer to Tay Mo 3 Primary School (most of them are studying at Ly Nam De Primary School). In addition, there are students from other provinces and districts who have recently moved to live in newly handed over apartment buildings (exact statistics have not been collected) and some students entering grade 1 have applied to other schools but when Tay Mo 3 Primary School came into operation, they withdrew their applications to transfer back.
It is known that in recent times, to solve the problem of lack of schools and meet the learning needs of the people in the area, the District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District have been actively implementing many solutions, including projects to build new schools, separate schools, and establish public schools in Tay Mo and Dai Mo wards, including: Tay Mo 3 Kindergarten, Tay Mo 3 Primary School, Tay Mo 3 Secondary School, Dai Mo 3 Primary School, Dai Mo 3 Secondary School.
At the working session this afternoon, parents continued to have many questions sent to the leaders of Nam Tu Liem district regarding school wishes, enrollment zoning, transparency in enrollment work... Representatives of Nam Tu Liem district People's Committee received and partly answered the parents' questions.
