After 16 years, the competition for excellent preschool caregivers has just been held with many new features, including being held in 3 competition clusters with 3 contents: menu development competition, competition to prepare 10 meals with a meal cost of 25,000 VND/child/day and product presentation competition.
The contest attracted the participation of 100% of schools with over 7,800 employees participating, reaching a rate of 74.3%. Through the grassroots round, 70 pairs of good cooking staff (140 staff) from 70 kindergartens were selected to participate in the city-level contest.
At the contest, the staff created a rich, creative, scientific, balanced and reasonable menu; at the same time, using a variety of seasonal, locally available food ingredients at suitable prices.
70 outstanding menus with nearly 300 dishes displayed at the contest have created a menu bank to add to the electronic educational materials repository to be spread to schools for reference and use.
“The success of this year’s competition also affirms that the capital’s preschool education system is heading in the right direction, growing stronger and stronger; at the same time, it demonstrates the outstanding quality of care provided by the staff at the schools. The valuable experiences from this competition will become the basis for the staff to continue improving the quality of child care and nurturing, contributing more to the development of the capital’s education,” emphasized Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
At the end of the contest, the Department of Education and Training awarded 30 district, town and city Education and Training Departments for their good and excellent achievements in directing the contest; honored and rewarded 140 employees with high achievements (44 First prizes, 54 Second prizes, 42 Third prizes) at the contest.
On this occasion, the Education Trade Union awarded 20 foster care staff who overcame difficulties, innovated and were creative. The Director of the Department of Education and Training also presented gifts to 7 schools (3 schools with excellent achievements in the Competition and 4 disadvantaged schools far from the center of the capital, schools with many separate locations) who overcame difficulties to successfully complete the Competition, and performed well the task of caring for, nurturing and educating children.
In order to spread the meaning of the contest, create conditions for the team of caregivers to gain more knowledge and skills, the Department of Education and Training will coordinate with experts to organize the topics "Improving food processing techniques for preschool children", "Innovating the way to organize meals for children", promoting solutions to reduce the rate of malnourished, stunted, and obese children in preschools.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi highly appreciated the initiative, responsibility and enthusiasm in organizing the contest of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. The contest is a message expressing gratitude and encouragement to teachers and staff; it is also a promise of the staff of preschool and nursery schools to overcome difficulties and complete the assigned tasks.
“I hope the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will continue to encourage, share, and pay more attention to preschool education; be flexible in management; and continue to advise on policies and mechanisms to improve the lives of preschool teachers,” Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi said.
