SMTS is one of the largest annual trade fairs in Japan, hosted by the Japan National Supermarket Association. SMTS is a gathering place for many prestigious Japanese and foreign companies in the fields of manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing, and distributing food products to supermarket chains across Japan. SMTS is a place to provide and exchange the latest information in the supermarket industry and food distribution sector in Japan. By participating in the event, companies and visitors can learn about new products, new trends in food consumption, and have the opportunity to meet many potential partners and build an effective business cooperation network.

SMTS 2025 recorded the participation of nearly 2,200 Japanese and international companies and organizations with 3,615 booths, including 105 companies and organizations from 15 foreign countries with 140 booths. According to the Organizing Committee's estimate, SMTS 2025 attracted over 70,000 visitors and surveyors.

At SMTS 2025, the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan met, discussed work and visited the booths of many large Japanese companies specializing in importing, distributing and trading food and beverage products originating from Vietnam including rice, vermicelli, instant pho, rice paper, fish sauce, spices, coffee, wine, beer, milk and coconut water... According to the Trade Office, many Japanese visitors expressed interest and love for Vietnamese products.

Promoting its role as a business bridge between the two countries, the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan always focuses on promoting the connection of Vietnamese export enterprises with Japanese importers and large distribution chains; at the same time, promoting Vietnamese products and goods in the Japanese market. Nowadays, Japanese people have paid attention to high-quality products imported from abroad, including agricultural products and food. Vietnamese agricultural, aquatic and food products are increasingly appearing in large supermarket chains in Japan such as AEON, Donkihote, Itoyokado, 100 Yen stores, etc.

Through SMTS 2025, the Trade Office introduced to Japanese companies some quality Vietnamese food products for them to consider importing. At the same time, the Trade Office also invited partners to visit and learn about Vietnamese products and goods that will be displayed at the Vietnamese national pavilion at the upcoming FOODEX 2025 International Food and Beverage Exhibition. FOODEX is the largest annual exhibition specializing in food and beverage in Japan. FOODEX 2025 will take place from March 11 to 14, 2025 at Tokyo Big Sight. In the context of Vietnamese food and beverage products becoming increasingly popular in Japan, the Trade Office believes that FOODEX 2025 will continue to be a great opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to find partners, promote and introduce quality Vietnamese agricultural, aquatic and food products to buyers and consumers in Japan.
