East Coast - West Coast Canada Food ROAD SHOW (April-May 2025)

In 2025, for the first time, Vietnamese businesses will have the opportunity to participate in a trade promotion delegation in the processed food sector on both the East Coast (Toronto) and the West Coast of Canada (Vancouver) from April 28 to May 4. This is a rare opportunity for Vietnamese businesses in the processed food industry to explore the market as well as introduce quality, innovative and creative products to Canadian consumers, while also meeting and connecting with partner businesses in the host country. Some of the program's outstanding activities include:

1. Participate in North America's largest food exhibition SIAL Canada 2025:

From April 29 to May 1, 2025, the 22nd Canadian International Food and Innovation Show (SIAL) will take place at the Enercare Centre in Toronto. This is the largest annual trade event in the food industry in the region, long considered a gateway to connecting with the North American and global markets. Previous editions of SIAL have brought together thousands of international businesses and brands from all over the world to showcase their products;

Participating in SIAL 2025, in addition to exhibition activities, businesses also have the opportunity to attend seminars and workshops within the framework of the Fair and meet customers at the Vietnam booth at the event.

2. Participate in the Workshop on Connecting the Indo-Pacific Food Supply Chain:

From May 2-3, 2025, the Indo-Pacific Food Supply Chain Connectivity Workshop organized by the Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) is a prominent trade networking event in the context of escalating trade wars, diversifying supply chains is becoming increasingly important and urgent for Canada as well as ASEAN countries, a region that plays an essential role in Canada's Indo-Pacific Strategy.

By participating in the event, Vietnamese businesses have the opportunity to introduce their products and connect with large businesses in the Canadian food processing industry, especially those in Vancouver, one of Canada's largest urban centers.

3. Visit and work with Asian food supermarket systems and Vietnamese supermarkets in Canada.

During the business trip, businesses will also have the opportunity to visit business establishments, supermarket systems, work with partners in Canada, especially Asian partners, Vietnamese supermarkets in the area to learn about the needs as well as standards for bringing products into Canada.

Other programs and events

In addition, in 2025, the Canadian Trade Office will also coordinate with relevant partners to organize purchasing delegations including supermarkets, distribution systems, and Canadian buyers to Vietnam to find sources of supply and attend major domestic international exhibitions such as: International Supply Chain Connection Exhibition (Vietnam International Sourcing 2025) in September 2025; International Food Expo in November 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, etc.

Throughout 2025, the Trade Office will continuously update programs, exhibitions, and important events on the Trade Office's information portal and implement activities to provide information and support Vietnamese businesses to display, promote products, and access the Canadian market.

In order to encourage small businesses with innovative products and orientation towards developing foreign markets, the Trade Office will have the following practical forms of support for businesses:

  • Work with the exhibition organizers to get preferential booth rental prices for businesses.
  • Support shipping costs of samples in appropriate form.
  • Other support related to visa, logistics information…
