The news that Chi Pu is opening a restaurant selling Vietnamese pho in Shanghai (China) is being closely followed by the online community. This is one of the first activities of the female singer in the country of a billion people after causing a stir in the show Sisters Make Waves and Winds season 3.
According to the information she shared on social media, the pho restaurant is located in one of the famous neighborhoods in Jing'an District, Shanghai, and is named "La Ganh". "After months of preparation, my restaurant is about to open in Shanghai. We are very happy to share the best Northern pho with you", Chi Pu wrote. She also introduced the two co-founders of this pho brand, Chengling Zhang and Helen Trinh.
Chi Pu's post received tens of thousands of interactions on social media platforms. Many Vietnamese and Chinese fans simultaneously sent congratulations on the opening and expressed their desire to enjoy it in person.
It is known that this restaurant opened for trial in late September and officially opened in mid-October. The restaurant operates throughout the Chinese National Day holiday from September 29 to October 6.
Currently, the restaurant menu has a beef noodle soup, served with fried breadsticks and poached eggs, and served with lotus tea. Each bowl of noodle soup costs 90 yuan (about 300,000 VND). During the grand opening, the price was reduced to 59 yuan (about 200,000 VND). Side dishes such as a plate of fried breadsticks cost 7 yuan (24,000 VND) and a poached egg costs 5 yuan (17,000 VND). A cup of lotus tea costs about 65,000 VND. This price is considered not high compared to the cost of living in Shanghai.
When arriving at the restaurant, customers can view the menu, order and pay by scanning a QR code or using an app on their phone. This method is very popular in restaurants in China. From the dining table, customers can observe the cooking area. The staff introduced the broth, which is simmered from beef bones for 6-8 hours, cooked with Vietnamese flavors.
According to customer posts on Weibo, the restaurant is very crowded, often requiring long waits during peak hours. Many Chinese customers commented that the pho has a lot of meat, the noodles are chewy and soft, and the broth is quite suitable for their taste. Many people expect the restaurant's menu to have more diverse Vietnamese dishes in the near future.
Some people said they quite like pho but dare not try poached eggs because they are not fully cooked.
Many Vietnamese diners also came to support the Vietnamese female artist. Most of the diners praised the restaurant's design, which has many Vietnamese features. Although it is new, it is run professionally and meticulously.
However, some diners said that the restaurant's pho was not really special, the broth was salty. Some Vietnamese diners in Shanghai said that the flavor of Trung Nguyen pho in this city was better. "We hope that when the restaurant is stable, the broth will be changed accordingly," said one customer.
