(PLVN) - During the series of events of the 13th Session of the Vietnam-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee held in Beijing, on September 30, 2024, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien had a working session with Chinese Minister of Industry and Technology Jin Zhuanglong.
At the meeting, the Minister of Industry and Trade suggested that the two sides should promote cooperation in the field of automobile industry; promote cooperation with a number of large-scale corporations/enterprises that have invested in Vietnam, cooperate with automobile manufacturing and assembling enterprises in Vietnam in implementing the production of commercial vehicles in accordance with the orientation of the Government and the Vietnamese market.
In addition, Minister Dien assessed that the use of high technology in the production activities of processing companies has brought positive signals to the food industry in China. Therefore, he suggested that the Chinese side coordinate to organize experience sharing workshops to learn and develop, support Vietnam in the process of applying and upgrading technological lines, and minimizing the level of waste of raw materials in food processing.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien also proposed and requested that the two sides focus on promoting cooperation in implementing three railway routes connecting Vietnam and China (including Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong; Lang Son - Hanoi; Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong).
Assessing the proposals of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, Chinese Minister of Industry and Technology Jin Zhuanglong said that businesses of the two countries can promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as raw materials, automobile industry, electricity industry, and joint development of industrial park systems...
“Currently, many large Chinese automobile companies have planned to expand their investment and production in Vietnam. The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Technology is committed to supporting Chinese enterprises to expand their investment in Vietnam, based on the needs of each country,” said Minister Kim Trang Long, suggesting that Vietnam also provide Chinese enterprises with mechanisms and policies, creating a more favorable business environment for their development.
Affirming that there is still much room for industrial cooperation between Vietnam and China, Minister Kim Trang Long proposed that the two sides should promote and develop industrial supply chains; promote cooperation in the fields of electricity industry, consumer industry, supporting industry and promote the development of aerospace technology...
Notably, during the meeting, Minister Kim Trang Long also emphasized the potential and space for cooperation between the two countries in the field of aerospace industry. “China has its own space station, which is autonomously operated by China. Recently, Thailand has also joined the Chinese space station. We hope that in the future, Vietnam will also be a member of it,” Minister Kim Trang Long proposed, while calling on Vietnam to cooperate with China in the field of aircraft production and manufacturing. China is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in exchanging experiences and transferring technology to jointly promote the development of the aviation industry.
