Welcoming the Prime Minister and his wife at the airport were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Burak Akçapar, Deputy Governor of Ankara Sait Atalay, Commander of the Army, Director of the Protocol Department - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet Cemil Miroğlu; Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Do Son Hai and his wife, along with officials and staff of the Embassy.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Türkiye is the first visit by a Vietnamese Prime Minister to this country and the first high-level delegation exchange between the two countries in the past five years, taking place in the context of Vietnam and Türkiye celebrating the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

The Prime Minister and his wife's two-day itinerary in Türkiye will include many important activities. On November 29, the Prime Minister and his wife will lay a wreath and visit the Mausoleum of President Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, before an official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace hosted by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz and talks between the two leaders, witnessing cooperation documents, meeting the press, etc.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also received a number of Turkish leaders such as the Minister of Treasury and Finance, the Minister of Industry and Technology, attended the Vietnam - Türkiye business forum, as well as received many leaders of Turkish enterprises such as IC Holding Group, Turkish Airways Group, visited the Turkish Aerospace Corporation, etc.

After concluding the official visit to Türkiye, the Prime Minister and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, will leave Ankara for Dubai (United Arab Emirates - UAE) to attend the World Climate Action Summit at the invitation of the Government of the United Arab Emirates.

Responding to Tuoi Tre Online , the leader of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the Prime Minister's official visit to Turkey this time shows that Vietnam will open a new development stage in the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Economic and trade cooperation will be one of the focuses in the talks and discussions of high-ranking leaders and other bilateral contacts between the two sides.

In the past two years, Vietnam's export turnover to Türkiye has continuously grown well and maintained a double-digit growth rate.

In the first 10 months of 2023, the total export turnover between the two countries reached 1.9 billion USD, up 13.6% over the same period in 2022; of which Vietnam's exports reached 1.5 billion USD, up 16.1% and imports reached 369.2 million USD, up 8.5%.

Türkiye is currently importing and is a potential export market for Vietnamese products such as: phones, garments, fibers and textile materials, footwear, iron and steel, computers, electronic products and components, rubber and rubber products, plastic products, wood products, rice, seafood, pepper, tea...

In the opposite direction, Türkiye supplies the Vietnamese market with the following products: machinery and equipment, fabrics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and chemical products, animal feed and raw materials, components, auto parts, metal ores, household electrical products, etc.

“The visit has important economic and trade significance in the context of Vietnam strengthening cooperation with partner countries in the West Asia region and continuing to develop and expand the market for import and export goods in this potential market area,” the leader of the Ministry of Industry and Trade assessed.
