Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrives in Kazan, starting a series of activities in Russia

(Dan Tri) - During his two-day visit to Russia to attend the BRICS Conference at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will have many bilateral meetings with senior leaders of various countries.
On October 23, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation landed at Kazan International Airport (Russia), preparing to attend the BRICS Leaders' Meeting from October 23 to 24. The head of the Vietnamese Government attended the meeting as a guest at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is also Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's first working trip to Russia, taking place at a time when the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2025.

Receiving leaders of the Russian Government, senior leaders of Laos and meeting representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia... are the first activities of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Kazan city. On October 24, the head of the Vietnamese Government will attend and is expected to speak at the plenary session of the BRICS Leaders' Meeting with the theme "BRICS and the Southern Hemisphere: Building a better world together". Also within the framework of the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will have many meetings and contacts with senior leaders of other countries. According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang, the participation of the Prime Minister and the Vietnamese delegation at this conference strongly affirms Vietnam's proactive, positive and responsible spirit in solving common problems of humanity. The BRICS 2024 Conference identifies the focus and priority as strengthening cooperation and coordination between BRICS and developing countries to join hands in building a better world for all people. At the conference, leaders are expected to focus on discussing solutions to promote economic growth and strengthen economic connectivity between BRICS and countries in the Southern Hemisphere. Leaders of the countries attending the conference will also discuss strengthening cooperation in responding to global challenges, promoting new growth drivers such as digital economy, green economy, circular economy, science and technology, innovation, etc. As the BRICS Chair in 2024, Russia will organize more than 200 political, economic and social events, of which the main event will be the BRICS Summit with the participation of heads of state. On the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to hold 20 bilateral meetings with leaders of the countries attending the conference. BRICS is a group representing emerging economies, accounting for more than 40% of the global population and about a quarter of the world's GDP. In 2009, BRICS was established with four initial members: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and in 2011, South Africa joined. This year, four countries: Egypt, Iran, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), also officially became BRICS members.
