Here, the Prime Minister conveyed the best regards and congratulations on the occasion of Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to priests, monks and Catholics nationwide in general and Bac Giang in particular.
The Prime Minister said that our country is developing based on the following foundations: Socialist democracy, socialist rule of law, socialist market economy. Throughout that process, the people are considered the center, subject, goal and driving force of development; our Party and State do not trade off or sacrifice social progress and justice to pursue mere economic growth.

Our Party and State always respect and ensure human rights, including freedom of belief, religion and non-belief and religion of all people; care for and create conditions for religious organizations to operate in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and laws...
Implementing that policy, our country's socio-economic situation has achieved many positive results in many aspects. The economy has grown quite well; inflation has been controlled; major balances have been ensured; public debt, government debt, foreign debt, and budget deficit have been controlled; national defense, political security, social order and safety have been maintained; foreign relations have been strengthened. The country has never had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today.
The Prime Minister also said that the relationship between Vietnam and the Vatican is developing well. This is an important foundation and motivation for Catholics to well implement the motto of "respecting God and loving the country".
According to the Prime Minister, these achievements were thanks to the leadership and direction of the Party, directly the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; the participation of the entire political system; the support of the community, businesses, international friends and especially the people, including compatriots of all religions, including Catholics.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the priests, monks, nuns, and Catholics of Bac Giang for continuing to well implement the motto of "living the gospel in the heart of the nation to serve the happiness of the people", "good life, good religion", together with the Party Committee, government, political system, and people of the province and the whole country in recovering and developing the socio-economy; maintaining security, order, and social safety; mutual love and affection to build an increasingly prosperous and happy life; contributing to building the homeland and the country.
The Prime Minister hopes that priests, monks and nuns and Catholics will continue to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, promote cultural and historical traditions and the spirit of national solidarity. At the same time, they will continue to implement the Pope's teaching that "a good Catholic is also a good citizen" with the spirit of "fearing God and loving the country" and the direction of "living the gospel in the heart of the nation to serve the happiness of compatriots" of the Vietnam Bishops' Council.
Delighted with the country's great achievements, the parish priest, Giesu Nguyen Van Phong, respectfully thanked the attention of the Party and State, directly from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Prime Minister, for the material and spiritual life of religious people, including Catholics; expressed his determination to well implement the Party and State's policies and laws, build a prosperous and happy life, and contribute to building the homeland and country to become increasingly prosperous.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited, presented gifts and wished a Merry Christmas to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Ngoc Dang - Nguyen Thi Ngot in Bac Giang city, a Catholic family that is good at production and business and has many positive contributions to the community.
