The most important event of WEF is the Annual Conference held every January in Davos, Switzerland. Besides, there are regional forums: WEF Tianjin Conference (or Dalian, China), WEF ASEAN Conference...

WEF events attract the world's leading political, business, cultural, social, research and academic leaders to shape agendas at the regional and global levels.

Since Vietnam and WEF established relations in 1989, the cooperation between Vietnam and WEF has been promoted and developed in many fields by leaders of both sides. The Prime Minister of Vietnam has attended the WEF Annual Conference many times.

Leaders of the two sides also promoted high-level contacts and exchanges, especially between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab.

For China, over the past 70 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations on January 18, 1950, the Vietnam-China relationship has maintained its momentum of development with the main stream being friendship and cooperation. The two countries have established the framework of the Vietnam-China relationship as a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, following the motto of “friendly neighbors, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, looking towards the future” and the spirit of “good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners”.

The Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has developed steadily and achieved many positive results in recent times.

In mid-December 2023, during the visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, the two countries issued a Joint Statement with five main contents on continuing to deepen and elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a community of shared future between Vietnam and China of strategic significance. Notably, the two sides agreed to build a community of shared future between Vietnam and China.
