Prime Minister congratulates Vietnam team and visits player Nguyen Xuan Son

Immediately after the second leg of the final match of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ 2024 ended with the victory belonging to the Vietnam National Football Team, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter of commendation to the Team.

In the letter, Prime Minister Nguyen Minh Chinh shared that the people and football fans across the country are very happy with the excellent performance of the Vietnam National Men's Football Team at the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ 2024.

The Prime Minister warmly commended, acknowledged and highly appreciated the entire coaching staff and the Vietnam National Football Team for their extraordinary efforts, resilient, courageous, united and tireless performance and impressive victories in the first and second leg finals, officially winning the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ 2024 championship.

"This victory is a testament to the progress of Vietnamese football, and is also a meaningful New Year gift for the people of the whole country," the head of government emphasized.

In addition to sending deep gratitude to the coaching staff, support team, and those who accompanied the team, and thanking fans nationwide for always accompanying, standing side by side, and being a solid support for the Vietnamese football team throughout the journey to conquer the highest position in regional football, the Prime Minister also sent his regards, encouragement, and best wishes to player Nguyen Xuan Son as well as other injured players.

"This victory is not only the pride of Vietnamese sports but also a source of inspiration for the entire nation, demonstrating the aspiration to rise up and creating motivation and inspiration to conquer new heights in the era of striving for rich, civilized and prosperous development of the Fatherland," he wrote.

Previously, on the evening of January 5, the Vietnamese team excellently defeated Thailand 3-2 in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final, thereby raising the championship with a total score of 5-3.
