Through the profiles of 615 candidates for professor and associate professor

The State Council of Professors has approved the profiles of candidates for associate professor and professor positions in 28 fields/interdisciplinary fields.

According to the Office of the State Council of Professors, the second meeting of the State Council of Professors for the 2024-2029 term took place on November 2-3. At the end of the meeting, the State Council of Professors approved the profiles of candidates for associate professor and professor in 28 fields/interdisciplinary fields (hereinafter referred to as fields). In fact, these are candidates proposed to be recognized as meeting the standards of associate professor and professor in 27 fields, because no candidate submitted a profile for the field of literature.

The State Council of Professors for the 2024-2029 term has approved the profiles of 615 candidates for recognition as meeting the standards of associate professor and professor.

Specifically, 615 applications were approved by the State Council of Professors, including 45 professor applications and 570 associate professor applications. Compared to the number of applications proposed by industry councils, 16 applications were rejected, all of which were applications of candidates for associate professorship, with a rejection rate of 3%.

Most majors have a 100% approval rate. Majors with rejected applications include: animal husbandry - veterinary medicine - aquaculture (2/14 candidates); mechanics (1/7); mechanics - dynamics (1/29); information technology (2/16); economics (4/104); agriculture - forestry (1/22); biology (2/31); irrigation (1/10); philosophy - sociology - political science (1/5); medicine (1/72).

If counting from the time the grassroots councils approved, a total of 110/725 applications were rejected, accounting for 15%.

Including both rounds, the majors with the most candidates approved by the industry council, as usual, are economics (100/108) and medicine (71/82).

If we consider the rate of rejected applications, the top major is information technology with 48% (14/27). Next is philosophy - sociology - political science, 43% (3/7).

The fields that do not have any professor candidates include: pharmacy, education, military science, metallurgy, linguistics, culture - arts - physical education - sports.

According to regulations, after 15 days if there are no complaints, the Chairman of the State Council of Professors will sign a decision to recognize the qualifications of associate professor and professor for the 2024 examination period for candidates whose profiles have been approved by the state council.
