The relevant units have agreed to choose the option of straightening the road along the Dong Nai river to preserve the ancient house of Vo Ha Thanh and have reported to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province.
Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just sent a document to the Provincial People's Committee to advise on a plan to preserve the ancient house of Vo Ha Thanh (also known as Ong Phu's house), Buu Long ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai.

Accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism together with related departments, branches and localities have agreed to report to the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant units to implement the preservation of ancient houses according to plan 2 proposed by the Department of Construction.
Specifically, the area of the riverside road encroaching on the old house is 12.7m, the area from the river embankment to the sidewalk of the road is 14.7m, with trees and a 2m wide walkway. The length of the unconstructed section is 650m.
Thus, the remaining range from the edge of the embankment to the edge of the old house porch still has enough distance to straighten the route to avoid the house, still keeping the 24m wide roadway along the entire route. With 650m of length, it is enough to ensure the route is curved smoothly, avoiding the house, without sharp turns, without bottlenecks.
The units agreed to propose straightening the road to preserve the ancient house.
The length of the route is about 200m, the surplus land area due to the route being moved to the outside of the river bank will be used for parks and parking lots (this is the land that has been recovered and compensated). This option does not require additional land recovery, only requires adjusting the route design, preparing and submitting the design documents for approval, so this option is the fastest to process.
Previously, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired a working session with departments, branches and localities to unify contents related to the preservation of Vo Ha Thanh ancient house.
The road straightening option is considered the most optimal to protect ancient houses without affecting the riverside road project.
Departments, branches and localities have agreed and proposed the Provincial People's Committee to assign the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advise the Provincial People's Committee to supplement the roadmap for ranking provincial-level relics in the period (2020 - 2025) and implement the preparation of a scientific dossier to rank provincial-level relics for the Vo Ha Thanh ancient house.
After the Vo Ha Thanh ancient house was ranked as a provincial relic, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed the Provincial People's Committee to establish a project to preserve and restore the Vo Ha Thanh ancient house according to regulations.
