Especially in recent years, thanks to digital transformation and the application of new communication technologies, it has brought about higher efficiency.
Media channels that reach people directly
From traditional media such as radio stations, many localities have gradually switched to digital platforms, applying smart speaker systems, including wireless broadcasting systems, diversifying forms of communication. This conversion not only helps change technology but also changes the way of doing things, marking a step forward in the way of doing communication to reach people in each village and hamlet.

At the Thanh Oai District Culture - Information and Sports Center, over the past years, the unit has focused on promoting digital transformation in propaganda, improving the quality of content on digital platforms, meeting the increasing information needs of the people. Propaganda programs have been deployed promptly, closely following the political tasks of the district, especially important policies and guidelines of the Party and State.
In 2024, the Center has broadcast hundreds of hours of local programs at a frequency of 1 hour/day, relayed and rebroadcasted the Central; broadcast thousands of news, articles, and reports from the District Radio Station. At the District's Electronic Information Portal, weekly news programs in the form of video clips have been produced; news, articles, photos, and documents have been posted. The number of visits in the month reached nearly 40,000 visitors. The Center's Fanpage has over 7,000 followers.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dat, an officer of the Thanh Oai District Culture - Information and Sports Center, said: Radio programs at the grassroots level are very diverse. In addition to propagating major holidays and important events of the country, the city and the district, the unit has focused on propagating the results of economic, political, cultural and social development, national defense and security, Party building work and the district's political system.
“The Center especially focuses on news and propaganda articles on new rural construction, timely propaganda of administrative documents of the District People's Committee, typical collective and individual examples in patriotic emulation movements in the area. In recent years, thanks to the application of technology and other social networking platforms, we have created quality, diverse news, operated flexibly, saved costs and reached more people,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dat shared.
Along with the innovation at the district level, many cadres working on grassroots information at the commune level have also known how to use support tools and social networks to create content. They have used smart editing software and artificial intelligence voice technology to create new, faster and more effective communication products.
Improve efficiency with media communication
It is known that currently, the whole country has 666 district-level radio and television stations, accounting for 94.5% of the total number of districts, towns and cities in the province. Of which, 625 Radio and Television Stations have merged with other public service units in the area to become Cultural, Information and Sports Centers, Media and Culture Centers or Centers with other names at the district level with radio and television broadcasting activities.

There are 41 Radio and Television Stations of 9 provinces and centrally run cities operating independently. Currently, there are 39 districts and centrally run cities without Radio and Television Stations of 7 provinces and centrally run cities.
The number of self-produced news and articles posted monthly on the district-level electronic information portal and website is an average of 76.3 news and articles/month; on the district-level public electronic bulletin board, an average of 16 news and articles; and on other media platforms, an average of 47.5 news and articles; on provincial newspapers, an average of 11.6 news and articles/month, and on central newspapers, an average of 0.8 news and articles/month.
The number of self-produced video clips posted on the district-level electronic information portal and website is an average of 11.2 video clips/month; the number of video clips posted on the district-level public electronic bulletin board is an average of 5.5 video clips/month and the number of video clips posted on other media platforms is an average of 15.9 video clips/month.
This is a new media product, increasingly popularly posted on portals, electronic information pages, public electronic bulletin boards and media platforms (Zalo, Facebook, district-level Fanpages...) because of its visual and vivid nature, attracting many viewers.
Previously, the creation of media products at the district and commune levels was simply information directed by local authorities or relayed by central and provincial radio stations on loudspeakers. However, up to now, digital transformation, application of software technology and trained human resources have contributed to creating new, faster and more diverse media products in many fields, which before 2020, district-level radio and television stations had not produced this new media product.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Hien - Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Information said that after the merger, most of the district-level radio and television stations have developed in the direction of multimedia content production, application and use of multimedia and multi-platform technology equipment.
