On Friday, May 24, the National Assembly continued the fifth working day of the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly at the National Assembly House, Hanoi.
In the morning, opening the session, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, on behalf of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee, sent his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the fire that occurred in the early morning of May 24 in Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi, causing particularly serious consequences.
Early in the morning of May 24, the National Assembly Standing Committee organized a working delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong to visit the scene and the hospital to visit and encourage the families of the victims, the medical team and the rescue forces at the facility. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh requested the Ministry of Public Security, the Hanoi People's Committee and the command forces to quickly overcome the consequences, give priority to treating the injured, promptly help the families of the victims to stabilize the situation and ensure their lives; requested the Government, relevant agencies and command forces to strengthen fire prevention and fighting nationwide; provide guidance and widely disseminate information on mass media so that people can raise their vigilance, respond promptly, and prevent fires and explosions.
Under the direction of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall, listening to: Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong presenting the Report on explanation, acceptance and revision of the draft Law on Archives (amended). After that, the National Assembly discussed in the hall a number of contents with different opinions of the draft Law on Archives (amended).
There were 13 opinions expressed by delegates at the discussion session. The delegates' opinions basically agreed with the content of the draft Law on Archives (amended) and the Report on explanation, acceptance and revision of the National Assembly Standing Committee. In addition, the delegates focused on discussing the following contents: explanation of terms; State policies on archives; authority to manage archival documents and archival document databases; private archives; deadline for submitting documents to historical archives; archival document storage; destruction of archival documents; archival practice certificates; archival service activities; archival documents of special value; prohibited acts; on the regulation of "Vietnam Archives Day"; digital archives; human resources for archival work; responsibilities of agencies, organizations and individuals; ensuring the consistency of the legal system.
At the end of the discussion, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra explained and clarified a number of issues of concern to National Assembly deputies.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly discussed in groups: Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Security Guards; Draft Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Support Tools (amended).
Saturday, May 25, morning: The National Assembly discussed in the hall the results of the thematic supervision of "the implementation of Resolution No. 43/2022/QH15 dated January 11, 2022 of the National Assembly on fiscal and monetary policies to support the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program and the National Assembly's resolutions on a number of important national projects until the end of 2023".
In the afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the National Assembly continued to discuss in the hall about the above content; from 3:00 p.m., the National Assembly discussed in the Group about: Investment policy for the investment project to build the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section; Adjusting the investment policy of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2030.
