On January 19, Tra Vinh City Police, Tra Vinh Province temporarily detained Nguyen Thanh Lam (24 years old, residing in Tra Vinh City) to investigate the act of rape.

According to initial investigation results, Lam is a tour guide and knows the victim, HNY (17 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City).
On the evening of November 16, 2023, when Y. went to Tra Vinh to play, Lam used force to force the victim to have sex in a motel. After escaping Lam, the victim went to the police to report the rape.
During the process of working with the authorities, Lam admitted to his crime.
The case is being investigated and clarified by Tra Vinh City Police.
