In Adelaide, Australia's fifth largest city, visitors can easily explore the vast and picturesque wine region of South Australia.

Before moving to the wine regions, visitors can check in at some of the city's iconic locations such as Adelaide Central Market, the South Australian Museum, or Glenelg Beach.

Barossa Valley

About 70km northeast of Adelaide, visitors will arrive at the Barossa Valley, one of Australia's oldest wine regions. The people here still maintain traditional handcrafted winemaking methods, creating bottles of wine with distinctive flavors made from Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache grapes.

This is also one of the charming tourist areas that offers wonderful experiences for both taste and sight for visitors. Visitors can sip fine wines while admiring the poetic beauty among the rolling hills. The warm weather of the temperate climate in the Barossa Valley seems to favor tourism here. Visitors can rent bicycles to ride around the poetic roads hugging the vast vineyards. If you have time, visitors can visit the surrounding ancient villages to immerse themselves in the ancient and peaceful beauty here.

Clare Valley

Also more than 140km northeast of Adelaide, visitors can visit the Clare Valley. This place is famous for its lemon-flavored and lightly aromatic wines made from Riesling grapes. Coming here, in addition to enjoying wine and local dishes, visitors can visit the shops at the farm gate, stroll on the poetic roads or leisurely have lunch in the meadow overlooking the vast vineyards.

Adelaide Hills

If you are not comfortable traveling far, you can choose to visit Adelaide Hills - a wine region just over 10km southeast of the city center. With the cool climate of the hills, this place mainly grows Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay grapes. Typical wines include white wine and sparkling wine with fruity aromas. From here, going south, visitors can conveniently visit the peaceful town of Hahndorf.
