On the afternoon of March 20, Vietnam Airlines Corporation announced that it will operate two international flights between Hanoi and two new destinations in India, Bengaluru and Hyderabad (India) in May 2025 using Airbus A321 aircraft with a flight time of about 4-5 hours.

The route between Hanoi and Bengaluru will be operated by Vietnam Airlines from May 1, 2025 with a frequency of 4 round trips per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, departing from Hanoi at 18:55 and from Bengaluru at 23:30.

Vietnam Airlines' Hanoi-Hyderabad route is expected to start from May 7, 2025 with a frequency of 3 round trips per week, taking off from Hanoi at 19:15 and from Hyderabad at 23:45 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Vietnam Airlines is the Vietnamese airline that has laid the foundation in the Indian market with direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Delhi and Mumbai. To date, Vietnam Airlines has operated more than 1,600 flights and served more than 240,000 passengers on flights to India.

Previously, Vietjet also officially opened two new routes to Bengaluru and Hyderabad, two leading cities in India.

Flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Hyderabad will be launched by Vietjet on March 18, 2025 with 2 round trips per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Ho Chi Minh City - Bengaluru route will be launched by the new-age airline from March 19, 2025 with 3 round trips on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays every week.

The two new routes will increase Vietjet's total number of routes between Vietnam and the world's most populous country, India, to 10, connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang with major cities, leading economic, cultural, political and technological centers such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Kochi.

Bengaluru is one of the largest and fastest growing cities in India, the capital of the state of Karnataka. Bengaluru is known as a leading technology hub, dubbed as the “Silicon Valley of India”.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad, home to many global technology corporations, is one of the two areas where people and businesses have a high demand for travel for business and tourism activities.

In 2024, Vietnam will welcome more than 500,000 Indian visitors, surpassing the total number of visitors from the previous year, making India one of Vietnam's top 10 largest tourist markets.
