Bim Son town "accelerates" to reach economic goals

The year 2024 has been identified by the Party Committees and authorities of Bim Son town as a year of "acceleration and breakthrough" to successfully complete the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025 and the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the Town Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. With great determination, the town has focused on taking advantage of opportunities and mobilizing all resources to develop the economy and society in a fast and sustainable manner.

Bim Son town enters the implementation of the socio-economic development task in 2024 in conditions with many advantages and difficulties, challenges intertwined, but challenges and difficulties are more. However, with the efforts of all levels, sectors, business community and people, the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of 2024 of Bim Son continues to maintain stability, some areas have quite good development compared to the same period.

The highlight of Bim Son's economic picture in the past 6 months is the industrial production sector, which has seen many improvements and achieved quite comprehensive results. Despite facing unpredictable fluctuations from domestic and international markets, with a proactive spirit, businesses in the town have maintained stable production. Thanks to that, the output of Bim Son's key industrial products all increased compared to the same period in 2023. Specifically, cement reached 6 million tons, up 7.3%; clinker reached 2 million tons, up 29%; construction bricks produced 105 million pieces, up 6.3%; cement packaging reached 110 million products, up 10.8%; clothing products reached 11.5 million products, up 5.6%. Along with industrial production, Bim Son town's export activities continued to grow. With the proactiveness of enterprises in maintaining traditional markets and seeking and expanding new customers, the export output of goods such as clothing, clinker, auto parts, and electric cables has increased. As a result, the total export value of goods of the town by the end of June 2024 reached 137.8 million USD, an increase of 19.8% compared to the first 6 months of 2023.

In addition, Bim Son town promotes agricultural, forestry and fishery production in the direction of urban agriculture. The focus is on implementing the accumulation of agricultural land to form concentrated, large-scale production areas. In the first 6 months of 2024, the whole town accumulated 25 hectares of agricultural land, reaching 55.5% of the plan assigned by the Town People's Council and the province. At the same time, the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program continues to be implemented synchronously and effectively by the town. In 2024, the town assigned wards and communes to develop 3 OCOP products. Currently, the wards and communes are completing documents to submit to the council for evaluation, scoring and ranking of OCOP products of the town for consideration.

With the goal of building Bim Son into a dynamic urban center in the North of Thanh Hoa province by 2025, the Party Committee and the town's government continue to prioritize investment resources to develop infrastructure and expand urban space. The town has directed specialized departments and offices to focus on resolving investment procedures within their authority, doing a good job of site clearance, creating favorable conditions for contractors to implement projects in the area, especially large projects that have an impact on changing the urban appearance, promoting economic development of Bim Son, such as the road connecting Tran Phu Street to Nam Bim Son 6 Street; renovating Tam Diep dike and Ha Lan bridge; installing lighting on National Highway 1A through the town; upgrading and renovating Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Quang Trung Commune; upgrading and renovating Nguyen Van Cu Street, Ngoc Trao Ward...

In order to successfully complete the goals and tasks of the 2024 socio-economic development plan, the Party Committee and the government of Bim Son town have resolutely directed departments, offices, wards and communes to review, evaluate and identify low-achievement and difficult-to-complete goals and targets in the last months of the year to propose specific and highly feasible solutions. The focus is on accelerating the completion of zoning and detailed planning projects as a basis for implementing investment tasks. At the same time, improving the efficiency of public investment capital use, focusing resources and solutions to accelerate key infrastructure projects, especially transport projects. Along with implementing measures to maximize the task of collecting the State budget in 2024, Bim Son town continues to accelerate the auction of land use rights; strengthen State management of land, resources, minerals and the environment. Along with that, the town has implemented solutions to improve the quality of cultural activities, especially Directive No. 29-CT/TU of the Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee on "Strengthening the leadership of the Party in continuing to promote the implementation of civilized urban lifestyle in the town in the period of 2024-2030". On the other hand, the Party committees and the town government at all levels have paid attention to directing the effective implementation of poverty reduction work, social security policies, associated with the campaign to support the construction of houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the town. Strengthening national defense and security, maintaining political security, order, and social safety, creating a stable environment and favorable conditions for the socio-economic development of Bim Son town.
