Department of Education and Training organizes training conference on high school graduation exam and college and university admissions in 2025 |
In 2025, 12th graders will take exams under the new general education program. Accordingly, candidates will take compulsory exams in two subjects, Math and Literature, and choose two additional subjects in the program to complete the graduation exam. The exam content is mainly from the 12th grade program, designed with a ratio of 40% at the knowledge level, 30% at the understanding level, and 30% at the application level.
In particular, a notable new point in this year's graduation assessment is that the exam score only accounts for 50% (previously 70%); the remaining 50% is taken from the results of 3 years of high school study. This scoring method aims to comprehensively assess the learning process and capacity development of students.
The exam will be held from June 25 to June 27. There are two groups of candidates participating: students following the 2006 General Education Program (including candidates who have not graduated or are taking the exam for university admission) and students following the 2018 General Education Program. For independent candidates who have graduated, they can choose to take the exam according to the exam questions of one of the two programs. Independent candidates who have not graduated must take the exam according to the exam questions of the 2006 General Education Program.
Important dates to note for this year's exam include:
From April 15 to April 18: Candidates try to register for the exam on the system.
From April 21 - April 28: Official registration for the contest.
June 25: Complete exam registration procedures, listen to announcement of exam regulations and schedule.
Candidates need to pay special attention to the regulations on items that can and cannot be brought into the exam room to avoid violating the regulations.
To prepare for this important exam, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document directing the implementation of Directive No. 37/CT-TTg dated October 7, 2024 of the Prime Minister, requesting departments, branches and localities to closely coordinate in organizing the exam; at the same time, it has provided funding for localities and units to organize the review for the 2025 high school graduation exam.
The Department of Education and Training (DOET) has proactively implemented the guidance documents of the Ministry of Education and Training, directing schools to organize teaching and review in the right direction. Training conferences on exam review techniques have been held to help teachers grasp the new exam structure and guide students to review effectively.
To help students get used to the new exam method, on April 12 and 13, the Department of Education and Training organized a mock exam for high school graduation subjects. This is an opportunity for students to practice their skills, while also helping schools evaluate the quality of teaching and classify students in order to have appropriate review plans.
It is expected that in the 2025 high school graduation exam, Bac Kan province will have over 3,000 candidates registered to take the exam, with 15 exam sites established, including a separate exam site for candidates taking the exam under the 2006 General Education Program.
The Department of Education and Training has issued many documents directing schools to complete the curriculum, promote review, organize assessment tests for grade 12 students; establish inspection teams to inspect review and exam preparation work at units. The Provincial Exam Steering Committee has also been established.
On April 11, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Provincial Police to organize a training conference on exam procedures, deploy university and college admissions, and provide instructions on the use of exam management software for relevant officials. At the conference, the police force disseminated measures to detect and prevent exam cheating using high-tech devices.
Schools in the area have actively coordinated with parents to support students in the review process, organize mock exams, and help students get acquainted with the 2025 reference exam format of the Ministry of Education and Training.
At schools, students are still actively reviewing and preparing for the exam. La Thi Thu Hoai, a 12th grader at Yen Han Secondary and High School in Cho Moi District, shared: “I have prepared thoroughly for the upcoming exam. I focus a lot on the subjects, practice test questions regularly and study according to the structure of the new program. In addition, I also refer to review books and focus on learning basic knowledge in class.”
In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training will continue to direct, inspect and urge units in preparing for the organization of the exam; at the same time, organize training courses on exam procedures for all officials participating in the exam, ensuring that the exam takes place seriously, in accordance with regulations, safely and achieves the best results./.
