Hundreds of teachers and lecturers in military uniforms are contributing to the operation of life by effectively training thousands of young people from good to excellent in their profession, meeting the needs of labor and the development requirements of society.

On the training front

From a secondary school established in 2009, after 15 years, Vocational College No. 21 - Army Corps 15 has affirmed its reputation and training brand with 26 occupations up to now, 5 training facilities in Gia Lai, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City, each year training more than 15 thousand students from many groups such as police, demobilized soldiers, children of the people, and compatriots. This is also the parallel and harmonious combination of training tasks with the political and social tasks that soldiers on the training front are shouldering.

Visiting School 21, the school's Board of Directors shared with us some basic information that is considered a positive signal. That is, many students, many young people graduated and went to work, with salaries ranging from 8 to 15 million VND, proving the effectiveness of the military school's training. The principal - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hien said that School 21 is the only vocational school that the army retains to provide vocational training in the Central and Central Highlands regions. At the end of 2024, the school signed a memorandum of understanding with the Primary School of Logistics - General Department of Logistics of the Lao People's Army. With 3 training courses on agriculture for Lao military students highly appreciated by the Ministry of National Defense and the Government of the two countries, these are highlights in addition to training and career guidance with many optimistic information.

In 2024, the school enrolled and organized training for 17,178 students, with revenue in 2024 reaching more than 80 billion VND, much higher than in 2023 with revenue of more than 70 billion VND and before that, in 2022 it was more than 64 billion VND. Also in 2024, there were a number of adjustments, requiring flexibility and speed in creating and organizing new tasks. School 21 has established a project for the National Target Program in 2024; Project to open a Driver Training and Testing Center in Di An City, Binh Duong Province for the Ministry of National Defense to review and appraise. Along with that, effectively put into use equipment transferred from Vocational College No. 8/BTTM and Vocational College No. 22/Army Corps 4.

Demand changes yourself

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thanh The, Party Secretary and Vice Principal of the school, said that over the past time, the school's staff, teachers and employees have continuously studied to improve their qualifications and capacity to meet the training needs in the new situation. The school aims to achieve a revenue of VND95.10 billion by 2025. And one of the key points in the coming time will be to promote cooperation with businesses. Accordingly, we will proactively propose, forecast and design training content according to the actual needs of the labor market, increase the time for students to experience, increase the time for training and internship at businesses, develop a plan to meet businesses to discuss, grasp the situation of demand, seek feedback, and provide career and employment orientation for students from businesses.

This is truly a necessary and urgent change that School 21 has made in recent years. It is known that in the past, the school has cooperated with prestigious universities and colleges in Phu Yen, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Lam Dong, and enterprises such as Lilama 7, 8 Joint Stock Company; Minh Quan Mechanical Production and Trading Company; Wodr Steel Steel Structure Company; Hoang Long Bao Company; Song Nguyen Trading and Service Company Limited; Truong Hai Automobile Joint Stock Company... But with the reflection of the teachers in military uniform, in the future, it will be even more urgent in the context of the Party and State's orientation to improve the effectiveness of vocational training in general to improve output quality, meeting social needs.

Likewise, the Party's major policy on restructuring and streamlining the apparatus, which is related to and will have a significant impact on the field of vocational training and education. These are both challenges and great opportunities, the vocational school of the 15th Corps - the Green Corps, of the army will have to be more flexible in adapting and anticipating career trends, services, and the needs of society, the region, and localities, so that students are skilled, steady and confident when graduating, ensuring their own and their families' lives, and contributing to society, the school's leaders shared.

Honored to do the duty of friendship

From the lecture hall for the class of Lao cadres and officers of the 3rd course, there were pictures of President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane with the poem that many people of both countries know by heart: "Vietnam - Laos, our two countries/Love is deeper than the Red River and Mekong River", we followed the path under the shade of cool green trees to the clean and beautiful dormitory. Here, our Lao comrades were arranged with very secure food and accommodation conditions, and as one school cadre jokingly said, their daily food standards were even a little higher than ours!

The dormitory area overlooks the practice garden with an outdoor garden and a greenhouse garden, where Lao students directly plant and care for many types of plants learned in the agricultural training and development program coordinated by the two countries' defense ministries. From the last two courses two years ago, to the third course that just graduated at the end of 2024, Lao soldiers returned to their units in many localities of the Land of a Million Elephants to carry out the task of developing production. According to the policy of the Lao Ministry of Defense, this is to ensure food security in the unit. When more is produced, it will be exchanged to serve the people in neighboring areas. More broadly, this is also a political and mass mobilization task in the localities, Lao soldiers will advise and support people in converting and improving the efficiency of agricultural production, said students Xom Ban Dit - Xay Nha Phut.

Therefore, the climate and soil conditions of the Central Highlands, in neighboring Laos, with some suitable plants such as rice, corn, potatoes, cassava, coffee, rubber, pepper and some vegetables are the contents that have been researched and drafted by the school to convey and guide Lao comrades in a suitable and practical way, introduced by professional military captain Nguyen Thi Ly, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of School 21. The exchange to supplement knowledge and information between teachers and students is continued after the courses end, thanks to which Lao comrades have grasped and effectively implemented the knowledge and practical skills in their units.

Next to the rows of green plants and vegetables that are monitored and cared for every day, Lao students happily expressed their sincere feelings. They are healthy and study effectively because the climate in Pleiku (Gia Lai) is similar to that in Laos and the living conditions are good. Everyone also participates in sports and cultural activities of the school as well as goes to practice production activities at some units of the 15th Army Corps, and also interacts with families in the area where School 21 is stationed with much affection. Ms. Xin Da Van - Keo Kham Phon said that she has learned new knowledge and practiced at the school some technical operations, experiences and methods to increase productivity and crop yield... Head of the delegation Kham Phan - In Tha Vong respectfully said: Under the guidance of the Lao Ministry of Defense, through studying, the 20 students of the 3rd course have better understood agricultural knowledge to apply in practice in Laos. The beds of trees and flowers that Lao students took care of are still green after leaving School 21 to return to their country to continue their duties. That green color will welcome the new training course that continues to open in 2025, in the fresh, dynamic atmosphere of the military school that is changing with life.
