Changing head coach, no more worrying about 'eating on the scale'

Long An Club will continue to compete in professional tournaments in the 2024 - 2025 season.

Talking to Thanh Nien Newspaper, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Long An province, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thanh said: "We are carrying out procedures to establish Long An Sports Joint Stock Company to receive Long An Club. Previously, the previous managing unit, Long An Football Development Joint Stock Company, registered with the Organizing Committee, VPF to continue competing in the first division and the National Cup in the 2024-2025 season.

Although conditions are still difficult, we will try to find a way out, campaign to open a new company to maintain the team in the professional level, with the joint efforts of many units inside and outside the province, including the Long An Province Young Entrepreneurs Association."

Also according to Mr. Thanh on September 10, Coach Phan Van Giau and 7 Long An players flew to Gia Lai province. Mr. Giau and his students were present at Ham Rong to join Head Coach Trinh Duy Quang and a group of 27 HAGL players.

LPBank HAGL U.21 team won the national U.21 tournament

According to the plan, Long An Club will be led by coach Trinh Duy Quang, who just helped U.21 HAGL win the 2024 National U.21 Championship.

The two assistants of the former HAGL Club captain will be Mr. Phan Van Giau - the symbol of Long An football - and Coach Luong Trung Tuan, who was the assistant of HAGL Club Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh at Ho Chi Minh City Club.

Before that, Mr. Quang and a group of 27 young players of HAGL had trained for 9 days at Ham Rong. They will join a group of 7 players from Long An to train and select the squad for the new season.

Mr. Thanh said that Long An Club will be a combination of players and coaches from Long An and U.21 HAGL players. Ham Rong Academy will support the Western representative in training before the new season. Coach Trinh Duy Quang and his team will live and train in Long An when entering the first division and the National Cup 2024-2025.

Previously, Long An Football Development Joint Stock Company sent a document requesting to return the team to the Long An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The team's Ben Luc headquarters has also become a meeting place for officials and employees of Mr. Thang's Dong Tam Group.

Long An Club once sent a letter to VPF requesting to withdraw from Vietnam's professional tournaments. Luckily, at the last minute, the team was saved when HAGL Club and LPBank Chairman Nguyen Duc Thuy joined hands to support, helping the HAGL U.21 team, who had just won the national U.21 tournament, to have the opportunity to compete in the first division.

It is known that, except for human and financial resources from HAGL and LPbank, the new Long An Sports Joint Stock Company will have a Chairman from the Long An Young Entrepreneurs Association, with contributions from businesses and philanthropists in Long An province.
