Welcoming the delegation of the Association of Korean People Who Love Vietnam to visit and work in Vietnam, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that the visit is of great significance, following the very successful State visit of President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife to Vietnam.
Delighted with the very important achievements of cooperation between the two countries over the past 30 years, the Vice President emphasized that the cooperation model between the two countries can be considered a successful model in international cooperation, based on three pillars: Politics, Economy and People-to-People Exchange. In terms of politics and diplomacy, the two countries officially upgraded their relationship to “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” in December 2022, opening a new period of development for the bilateral relationship to develop substantially, effectively and long-term.
In addition, economic, trade and investment cooperation is both a pillar and a driving force for promoting bilateral cooperation. In Vietnam, Korea is currently the number one partner in terms of foreign direct investment; number two in terms of international cooperation; and number three in terms of trade cooperation. Conversely, Vietnam is the number one partner of Korea in the Southeast Asian region (ASEAN), accounting for 30% of foreign investment capital and 50% of total trade turnover between Korea and ASEAN. Along with that, cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchange are important pillars to connect the solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
The Vice President affirmed that the results achieved between the two countries have important contributions from organizations, individuals and associations, including the Association of Korean People Who Love Vietnam.
Expressing gratitude and appreciation for the effective and practical activities of the Association of Koreans who love Vietnam over the past 20 years, the Vice President hoped that in the coming time, with the existing foundation as well as the affection between the two countries, especially the important milestone of upgrading the relationship to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership", VESAMO would continue to have more practical and effective activities in cooperation with Vietnamese partners such as the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association, thereby contributing to building, developing and strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

Thanking the Vice President for taking the time to receive the delegation, Mr. Chang Ho Ick said that in the coming time, VESAMO will coordinate with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association to soon implement academic exchange activities and business cooperation between the two countries; at the same time, build a plan for people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
The President of VESAMO hopes that the Vice President will continue to pay attention to and support the activities of friendship associations, including the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association; thereby making practical and effective contributions and enhancing the friendship between the two countries.
The Association of Koreans Who Love Vietnam is a non-profit organization; established in 2002 in Busan, Korea. Members are scholars, businessmen, lawyers, artists, intellectuals and many other classes in society. For over 20 years, VESAMO has always given good feelings and practical support to the Vietnamese community in Korea; actively organized meetings, friendly exchanges, and promoted investment between the two sides. In the past 5 years, the Association has had many positive activities to help victims of Agent Orange and disadvantaged students in Vietnam. |
