Coming to Que Ai village, Minh Hoang commune (Phu Cu) these days, many people are surprised and delighted to see colorful murals on the surrounding wall of the Stele House - where the first Party cell of Phu Cu district was established.
The "giant" mural is 100m long, with a total area of up to 200m2, depicting a peaceful village scene, love for the Fatherland, homeland, environmental protection, traffic safety, etc. This is a project of Phu Cu youth to practically respond to Youth Month 2025 and celebrate the country's major anniversaries, while demonstrating the pioneering spirit of youth in building a model new countryside.
Sharing the idea of implementing the project, Comrade Vu Thi Duong, Secretary of the District Youth Union, said: Learning from good models at some Youth Union bases in the province when Youth Union members and youths painted on electric poles to create highlights for the rural landscape, thereby propagating and educating the sense of responsibility for environmental protection to Youth Union members, youths and people. Because this is the first mural project of the district's youth, the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union decided to choose a meaningful location to carry out the project, which is the Stele House where the first Party cell of Phu Cu district was established. When proposing the idea and receiving the approval of local leaders, on that basis, we launched it to Youth Union bases throughout the district and received support in both material and working days from a large number of Youth Union members.
To complete this work, about 20 members and young people participated in painting for 10 days. First, the “amateur artists” sketched the content, then chose the colors and divided the color blocks to harmonize the color tones. After that, the wall surface was cleaned, then covered with a layer of white paint and skillfully “decorated” the wall with paintings in many bright colors.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Duong, a member of Minh Hoang commune, said: We came up with the drawings ourselves and mixed the colors according to our preferences. Although the participants were not professional artists, they all worked with passion and received the support and high appreciation of the local Party Committee, government, and people.
The mural work of Phu Cu youth not only demonstrates the spirit of volunteering for the community but also creates a new look for the rural landscape, limiting the posting of illegal billboards and leaflets... In particular, it has had a positive impact on the community's awareness in protecting the environment and building a civilized countryside.
Looking at the mural, Mr. Ta Quang Nhuan, Party cell secretary and head of Que Ai village, said: This is a meaningful project for the youth of the hometown, and is also a form of visual propaganda about a beautiful lifestyle, contributing to changing the awareness of local people in the work of ensuring and preserving a green - clean - beautiful environment. Not only me but also the people in the village are very happy and excited to see their hometown becoming more and more spacious and fresh.
It is known that the total cost of the mural project is 45 million VND from support and contributions from cadres, union members and youth in the whole district.
Secretary of Phu Cu District Youth Union Vu Thi Duong added: The project is a joint achievement with material support and contributions of many people. Each picture is a story, a message of propaganda for love of homeland, country, environmental protection... The work of preserving and maintaining the project is assigned to local union members and youth so that the project can promote its long-term significance. In the coming time, we will continue to replicate this model at the central points of communes, towns, schools... to contribute to building an increasingly beautiful environmental landscape.
