Establishment of Tay Ninh Cocoa Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative

The Cooperative (HTX) consists of 6 members, with production and business activities in the form of agricultural services, specifically: breeding and selling cocoa seeds; planting and caring for cocoa trees; purchasing cocoa fruits; processing cocoa beans; processing cocoa products; receiving planting and caring for forest trees; breeding, buying and selling stingless bees and stingless bee products; producing organic fertilizers; agricultural farmstay, eco-tourism, selling food, drinks, products from cocoa and stingless bees.

Mr. Hoang Hong Hai - Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Tay Ninh Cocoa Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative spoke at the conference.

The cooperative cooperates with Trong Duc Cocoa Company (Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province), a leading company in cocoa seedlings in Vietnam, with a closed product purchasing process in the direction of "Circular Cocoa"; production according to UTZ standards ( UTZ is a sustainable development program for coffee, cocoa and tea, cooperating with existing brands) , VietGAP direction, signing a contract with the company to purchase and consume products.

Most of the cooperative members are farmers with many years of experience in production work. The cooperative's organizational structure and management apparatus are compact, creating favorable conditions for the cooperative's production and business activities.

Mr. La Huu Nghi - Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union said that Tay Ninh Agricultural and Forestry Cocoa Cooperative is the leading unit in developing cocoa trees in Tay Ninh. Through experimental planting on a scale of 6 hectares, the trees grew well, and the 18-month-old crop began to bear fruit.

The cooperative was established to improve product quality, gradually promote production linkage and product consumption for members according to the value chain, aiming at the sustainable development of agriculture based on planning of raw material sources according to market demand.
