Thanh Hoa honors elderly people who are good at economics

(Dan sinh) - On the morning of August 1, the Association of the Elderly (NCT) of Thanh Hoa province held a conference to commend the elderly with good economic performance in the period of 2018 - 2023; to review the mid-term implementation of Decision 1336/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the Project to replicate the model of intergenerational self-help clubs until 2025 and to review the association's work in the first 6 months of 2023.

The national conference to commend and honor advanced models will take place on June 11, 2023.

Thanh Hoa Provincial Elderly Association currently has over 533,000 elderly people, operating in 4,393 branches, 559 grassroots associations and 27 district-level elderly associations. Recently, the movement "Elderly people do good business" launched by the Central Elderly Association has received enthusiastic response from officials and members throughout the province.

Mr. Phan Van Hung, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association, awarded the Certificate of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association to individuals who achieved the title of "Elderly people with good economic performance" at the national level for the period 2018 - 2023.

The whole province has 325,000 elderly people directly participating in labor, production and business. Through the summary at all levels of the association, there are 17,651 elderly people doing good business at all levels; 6,716 elderly people are owners of farms, enterprises, production and business establishments, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers, contributing significantly to the development of the economy, society and local budget.

Elderly officials and members promote capital and experience, apply scientific, technical and technological advances to effective production and business, actively participate in charitable and humanitarian activities, and help people in difficult circumstances.

The typical examples and models of the elderly who are good at doing business are appearing more and more, they are exemplary models that have widespread influence in localities, attracting and encouraging the elderly to promote the tradition of hard work, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, not accepting poverty, striving to enrich themselves legitimately for their families and society, having educational significance for their children and the younger generation, highly appreciated by Party committees at all levels, authorities, socio-political organizations, and the people.

At the conference, delegates discussed and shared experiences and ways to organize production to bring high economic efficiency; thereby spreading the knowledge for the elderly to learn and follow.

Recognizing, praising and appreciating the outstanding results achieved by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Association of the Elderly in recent times, Mr. Phan Van Hung, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly; Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee also suggested that in the coming time, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Association of the Elderly should continue to closely coordinate with departments, branches, sectors and localities to promote propaganda and mobilization work, raise awareness of cadres, members and people about the purpose, role and importance of the emulation movements "Elderly people doing good business", "Old age - bright example" ...; mobilize families, children and people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, contributing to stabilizing and developing the economy and society in the area. Regularly pay attention and promptly reflect, recommend and propose to effectively implement the work of caring for the elderly. Build and replicate typical examples of elderly people who are good at doing business, share good experiences in economic development, participate in social security activities, support elderly people from poor households to improve their lives. At the same time, continue to organize seminars, visit, exchange, and learn experiences between models and localities on how to get rich and develop good business so that elderly people have the opportunity to access and learn, and spread to other members...

On this occasion, at the ceremony, 7 individuals who achieved the title of "Elderly people with good economic performance" at the national level for the period 2018 - 2023 were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association; 25 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 64 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial Elderly Association for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Elderly people with good economic performance", period 2018 - 2023.
