"Season of youth", dedicate yourself to difficult work
Over the past 20 years, Youth Month has become a highlight of the youth volunteer movement, awaited, responded to and participated in by tens of millions of union members, young people and people. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the Central Youth Union's initiative to choose the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers" 2024.
Mr. Hue said that Youth Month chose the theme "Youth volunteers for community life", combined with the activity "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" has demonstrated the spirit of action and high determination of the Youth Union at all levels. Therefore, he noted that in each activity and program, it is necessary to clearly establish the core tasks and implement them effectively.
Therefore, the Youth Union needs to do a better job of educating and promoting the spirit of initiative, volunteerism and creativity of young people. This helps young people participate in activities for the benefit of the community, while at the same time building and mobilizing organizations and individuals to invest in youth development, raising the level of Youth Month activities.
First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy said Youth Month has truly become a vivid practical environment for young people to promote their pioneering role, volunteerism, and creativity, contributing to the completion of political tasks and socio-economic development in localities and units.

The National Assembly Chairman's conversation with young people was not only limited to the scope of Youth Month but also about the activities of the Union and youth movements in 2024.
Emphasizing that this is a year of special significance, marking many meaningful events in the youth volunteer movement, Mr. Hue noted that the Union needs to have a deeper understanding of the role and position of youth. From there, create all conditions to strongly arouse the flame of enthusiasm, promote the strength and creativity of the young team in performing tasks in the locality and unit.
Mr. Hue said it is necessary to summarize the theory and practice over 20 years of implementing Youth Month to constantly innovate and be creative when choosing content and designing activities.
"In order for Youth Month to fulfill its mission as codified in the Youth Law 2020, it will continue to develop to new heights, becoming more profound, practical, effective, having a wider and more sustainable spread, increasingly meeting the requirements of both caring for, accompanying, and promoting youth," Mr. Hue noted.
Responding to the "Tet tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho", the National Assembly Chairman requested the Youth Union and youth across the country to effectively maintain good models and practices in tree planting, afforestation, environmental protection, and climate change prevention. Regularly organize activities to care for and protect trees, and maintain a green - clean - beautiful living environment.
Mr. Hue also noted that Party committees and authorities at all levels need to pay attention and invest appropriately in environmental protection, climate change response, and widely propagate so that people enthusiastically participate in tree planting and afforestation.
Continue to raise awareness and take effective measures to protect forests, invest in and apply science and technology, create support mechanisms and encourage forest economic development, contributing to the country's sustainable development.
"Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, ministries, branches and organizations must strengthen leadership, direction, guidance and coordination to effectively implement youth work, trust and assign tasks to youth. Regularly dialogue and listen to contributions from young people, helping young people have the best opportunities and conditions to practice, strive and mature" - Mr. Hue emphasized.
Applying technology and digital transformation in operations
At the launching ceremony, village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people in the ethnic minority community and former youth volunteers were presented with gifts. At the same time, the Central Youth Union also presented gifts to students who overcame difficulties to study well, presented social security projects and presented maps and national flags to grassroots Youth Union organizations.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, three working delegations of the Central Youth Union participated in activities related to volunteering to ensure social security, for community life, volunteering to protect the environment, responding to climate change and volunteering to build new rural areas.
Mr. Bui Quang Huy suggested that the Youth Union at all levels seriously and creatively implement three groups of key activities of Youth Month. In addition, choose suitable and practical volunteer activities and implement them scientifically and substantially so that the projects are effective.
