Major Chau One (Commander of the Training and Mobility Battalion, Provincial Border Guard) said: “In the first month of receiving new soldiers, we focused on political education, proactively grasping the ideological situation of officers and soldiers, especially new soldiers and training staff. Thereby, promptly helping new soldiers integrate into the military environment, resolving policies and regimes, ensuring 100% peace of mind, readiness to receive and complete assigned tasks well. Training grounds and training grounds were consolidated; all types of training materials were inspected, repaired, and renewed; new soldiers' physical strength was trained according to the roadmap, meeting the requirement of nearly 99% healthy soldiers”.
After 6 weeks of approaching the military environment, the new soldiers have become familiar with the daily and weekly regimes; manners, greetings and greetings are becoming more and more standard. Some key movements and psychological training for new soldiers to serve the "3-explosion" test are being focused on, with the absolute determination to ensure safety for people, weapons and equipment and achieve high results. Every evening, each company takes turns "marching", carrying backpacks on their shoulders, conquering each distance in a gradually improving direction. The young, fair faces of the day before are now mostly tanned, but their expressions are much more flexible and confident. Soldier Vo Quoc Huy shared: "Studying national defense and security in grade 12, I somewhat visualized the basic movements of shooting. After joining the army, the training is more specialized, requiring serious and regular practice to be able to complete the "3-explosion" test well. I feel that I am integrating very well into this environment."
The first month of training for new soldiers is very important, laying the foundation for the following months. Therefore, the Border Guard Command regularly reminds and directly inspects the leadership and direction of this task; requests the Battalion Command to grasp the situation, thoughts, aspirations of the training staff and new soldiers; strictly maintain the training, study, work and living regime during the day and week, regularly announce news, read newspapers and listen to news, observe political and cultural days, and political and ideological activities; manage people, weapons and technical equipment; ensure safety in training and safety when participating in traffic; strictly implement measures to prevent and control epidemics, food hygiene and safety, and quality of health care for soldiers.
At the meeting with the Command-level leaders, officers and soldiers of the Training - Mobile Battalion expressed many thoughts and wishes. Lieutenant Le Thanh Khang (Platoon Leader of Platoon 2) requested to provide more military equipment for new soldiers. Second Lieutenant Tran Anh Khoa (Squad Leader of Squad 8, Platoon 2) realized that the weather was starting to get hot and needed more fans to avoid affecting the health and daily life of the soldiers. Soldier Le Dinh Thi shared: "Compared to the first day of joining the army, my health has gradually improved. The officers in the unit are very enthusiastic in helping, so if I have any difficulties, I boldly speak up". Soldier Nguyen Thanh Viet was impressed by the delicious and filling meals in the army kitchen, gathering with other soldiers in the squad, gradually easing his homesickness. Soldier Dinh Hoang Anh left his hometown Bac Lieu, returned to An Giang to perform his military service, deeply feeling the camaraderie - his new family now...
“Compared to when they first joined the army, the soldiers know how to arrange their internal affairs neatly, evenly, and beautifully. The Command has unified the provision of additional fans and necessary equipment to improve the quality of life in the unit. Hopefully, each new soldier will clearly understand that he or she is performing the noble and sacred duty of youth towards the Fatherland, and will be solemnly sent off by the locality to fulfill his or her duty. During these 2 years, you must be determined to train, unify your will and actions, have a steadfast spirit, and strictly maintain the daily and weekly regime. No longer protected and cared for by your family, you must be more mature and grown-up, “what others can do, you can do”, considering this a challenging time “fire tests gold, hardship tests strength”. That is the right attitude and responsibility in life” - Colonel Tran Quoc Khanh (Commander of the Provincial Border Guard) advised.
The Head of the Command also praised the spirit, responsibility, and awareness in studying and training of the new soldiers; acknowledged the team of cadres at all levels who were close, friendly, encouraging, sharing, and helping the soldiers overcome the initial awkwardness. In the coming time, the unit needs to continue to promote propaganda and education to raise awareness for cadres and soldiers; organize training according to plan, ensure absolute safety in all aspects, maintain the order of Party work and political work, focus on ensuring good logistics, techniques, material and spiritual life for the soldiers... It is expected that, after 3 months of general training and 1.5 months of training specifically for the border guard force, all soldiers will firmly shoulder the responsibility of protecting the sovereignty and security of the border, completing all tasks assigned by the army.
