Thai Nguyen spends over 94 billion VND for sustainable poverty reduction

The target that Thai Nguyen province aims at is to support the poor and poor households to overcome the minimum living standard, access basic social services according to the national multidimensional poverty standard, improve the quality of life and sustainably reduce poverty; prioritize supporting poor ethnic minority households, poor households with members who have contributed to the revolution and women in poor households... with the goal of sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction, limiting poverty relapse and poverty generation.

Thai Nguyen's main targets in 2024 are: Striving to reduce more than 2,700 poor households and 776 near-poor households according to the national multidimensional poverty standards; supporting the development and replication of over 20 poverty reduction models and projects to support the development of production, business, services, tourism, start-ups, and business start-ups; striving to support poor and near-poor households with at least one member of working age who is capable of participating in labor to have sustainable employment; 100% of officials working on poverty reduction are trained and provided with basic and advanced knowledge and skills in management, organization and implementation of poverty reduction programs, policies, and projects; participatory planning, community development planning, and poverty reduction operations.

Accordingly, many component projects will be implemented by Thai Nguyen such as: Diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models; supporting production development, improving nutrition; developing vocational education, sustainable employment; communication and information poverty reduction...

It is expected that the total budget of Thai Nguyen province for implementing component projects of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2024 is over 94 billion VND.
